I tried to be as accommodating as possible for my womenfolk guests.
IME, most people loathe jazz. So besides Sade being a nice compromise that I actually enjoyed as well. Shakatak was the closest alternative to Sade that assisted in setting the proper mood.
Shakatak, a UK based pop-jazz-funk band provided the best alternative to Sade… that I could dig also.

Jazz can be seen as just technique and often is. But like any genre of music, there are those who have their own technique to amplify the “soul” of what their music is saying and jazz is amazing.
