The Allman Bros have some great rock tunes, but IMO they went for the power of humbuckers and missed the silky hypnotics of Hendrix which somewhat simulates being underwater at times. I don’t think anybody could create the sounds and feeling - maybe Jeff Beck - that Hendrix did.

Whenever i hear this, I can’t help thinking about “The Elephant Man” which evokes too much sadness to enjoy the beauty of this tune.
