Well OGrs itās Americaās Bards ā¦80 th Birthday in a couple days.
Happy Birthday Bob Dylan
Maybe you all can share your fav Bob Musicā¦and Boy is there a choice.
Iām going to post a few this week.
Iām going to start with the Judas tour, when Bob Kicked folk music into touch (if he ever did? )
Dublin 66 .with the Hawks
Is that a folk song
I canāt say Iām a huge fan of Dylan as a performer, but the dude can sure write the hell out of a song.
Iāve seen him twice - once on the 1999 tour with Paul Simon, and a few years later on a co-bill with Phil Lesh (bassist for the Grateful Dead). Iām glad I had the opportunity, though I think I prefer to hear his material interpreted by othersā¦
Big influence on lots of bands and solo artists.
He did do a album with the deadā¦itās wat I would say interesting.
Ye Bob was a bit of a trucker
Thanks for posting
I saw the Grateful Dead a bunch of times in the 1990s. They were known for playing a different set list every night, but you were almost guaranteed to hear a Dylan cover!
Brilliant I love the Grateful Dead.
Ye Bob done a tour with the dead as his backing bandā¦Fucking amazing
It was a dead tourā¦but Iām sure they all had a great time.
Here he is with Gerry and co.
Brilliantā¦just brilliant
As you guys know ā¦Woody Guthrie was big part in his early career.and a other American Iconā¦Bob in his writings felt he was a wandering minstrel like woody.
Later he recorded with Argo Guthrie ā¦WOodys son.
Early Bobs song to Woody
Edit ā¦Arlo guthrie
I agree with your assessment of Dylan. I much prefer covers of his tunes, particularly the jazz leaning interpretations.
A couple of my faves.
