I think I remember this point I love this radio station, so many options depending on my mood at the time:
I have a soft spot for both the âSecret Agentâ and âCliphop IDMâ stations.
Hellâs yeah we Push It!
I may have told this story here before, butâŚ
June 25, 1992. Downtown Chicago was filled with 50,000+ Grateful Dead fans for the bandâs show at Soldier Field. I stuck out my hand when liquid LSD was offered to me but instead of a drop I received a puddle. The trip ramped up during the bandâs first set but kept getting higher and higher. Come set break I found myself in a state of mind where I needed some fresh air. I exited the stadium and started walking laps around the venue checking out all the craziness. For those who donât know, many people would follow the Grateful Dead around without tickets and just enjoy the carnival-like atmosphere of the parking lot scene. It was quite a party! I found a little grassy spot where I could sit and it happened to be near this guy busking on the sidewalk. He was playing trombone and repeated this melody that ended up stuck in my head. I couldnât place it and had no idea what it was for YEARS, but then heard it again at a String Cheese Incident concert. From there I was able to get the song title and finally hear the original âSt. Thomasâ by Sonny Rollins.
This makes my whole phone shake.
AS IT SHOULD.
