This track starts my day almost every day for the last year…. Realtalk “you ain’t really bout S&$!”
If they only knew……
I recognize this holocaust guy from the Bobby Digital album, never knew he had his own tracks. Goode find.
lol nah I have very little left. at one time I had some crazy classic records. Run DMC \Box Set , 36 Chambers , KID & PLAY, Red Headed King Pin, Gas Face, Dream Warriors lol. My friend in high schools family moved before he gave em back to me. Rahim L. they moved to Toronto (before the internet) That fucker.lol
I know one actual collector, every facebook message is a pic of his latest purchases. he started real crazy in high school and knew every name no matter how underground. If his collection is less than 70k purchase price I will shocked. I got a couple records , big daddy Kane tape, kool & the gang tape left and a mp3 player with most Aesop Rock albums but have not been able to hold on to much. Moved around to much.
Always sounds better on vinyl. This is what was in the packages waiting for me on my last trip home. Mum’s got basically half a room dedicated to storing my wax, got about 30k worth sitting in storage.
Not sure why I took such a poor quality photo:
@TopShelfTrees1 few of your favourites in there mate… Sean P, Vinnie, Ill Bill etc
Wow. Nice collection. DOOM, Big L, Biggie, J Dilla need extra plastic-covered protection speaking of which or that reminds me ya just need an Easy-E.
Haha I wish that was my total collection then I might of been able to put a deposit down on a home or some property like my friends did. The albums in the pic are just what was in unopened packages last time I was home. It’s probably about 2% of my total collection.
All my vinyl gets the extra plastic, also all the ones in the picture are still sealed. But definitely the J Dilla, JAYLIB, Doom and Madvillian are little extra special
And yes I have a problem haha
A well taken care of collection may not only still be flip-able but perhaps inflation protected.
Wish I knew all the potential distribution channels for ya. I would sell any less desirable first for as close to a today’s record cost as the other easier to move go up. buy ur property and get a good you tube mp3 downloader and a cheap mp3 player so you have some tune-age, if that is what you would like.
Yeah mate they definitely hold their value and some go up considerably, I have a few original pressings that can go for anything from $1000 to $2000 each. I used to be a party DJ so I would also mix and scratch them and that definitely doesn’t help the value. The original pressing of the Beastie Boys Check Your Head was a crowd pleaser and unfortunately got scratched to shit and not in a good way. If my mum wasn’t in her 70’s I’d get her to start listing them on discogs but there’s a huge risk of getting robbed advertising expensive vinyl, couldn’t put mum at risk like that.
Yes, I was in the Check your Head Cult drawn in by the subway strobe lights kicking off the Jimmy James video lol the tabs of Grate full Dead helped.
Yes indeed the scratch , taking out the comic out of the plastic to read on the toilet while eating a burger lol does not increase value lol
Movies have been made off of jacked collections. Comics, forgot the name. Yuppers need a linguistics solution to get that off the ground.
