You can use Citric acid in powder form to lower ph as well. Itβs available at most super markets in the canning section with Mason jars and stuff. It doesnβt buffer the ph for as much time as ph down drops do but I like that I can have it drift upwards to make all the nutrients available at different ph levels. It only takes a pinch to drop ph significantly so go sparingly until you figure out the dosage rate.
Also those lemon juice, lime juice bottles or white vinegar from the market. Just 1-2 tiny drops in 1 gallon of water drops ph. Shake well.
But i always then test the ph before watering the plants.
