Soild advice
pump showed up today not too impressed lol
The inlet nozzle is actually 1" not the 1.5 it says it should be. Same with outlet nozzle being half the size they said.
Not really sure if i should grab another reducer and use this or just go pickup one of those mag drive pumps.
Take the connection peice with you to guarantee it fits before buying. Also get some plumbers tape to make everything snugg.
I ordered most of my stuff online because of covid most stores where closed here in my part of Canada. Defiantly plan on doing that now lol!
No doubt. Makes sense. Look up Saltwater Aquarium stores, hobby shops ect for local.
I only use Iwaki MD pumps now, they never seem to fail. Not submersible but that means it doesnāt heat the waterā¦
Unless you are only aerating the rez and relying on flow for adequate oxygen you donāt need all that much flow reallyā¦ all lots of flow will do is suck/push roots into your connection pipesā¦ the idea is just to keep your levels constant and so you only have the Rez to adjust the whole system for nutes and ph etc.
Sorry Iām late to the thread. Iām new to the forum, but Iāve been running RDWCs for about 3 years. I run 2 separate 4 plant RDWC systems using 1 1/2ā UC pipes and a 1000w pump thatās never failed or flooded. To inhibit root clogging, I attached an elbow joint in each bucket thatās faced downward about 1/2ā off the bottom & use paint strainers to keep roots & debris in check. Large air stones help keep the roots off the bottom as well. Itās a smaller system, but pumps out some really nice plants and colas.
The paint strainers really help with my 5 gal buckets, but I doubt if theyād work with the larger totes
Looks beautiful my man can I ask what lights your using?
Thanks Neb! I just use the cheap LEDs, but I pack 8 x 250w lights in Each 4ā x 3ā tent. Hereās a pic of my current grow
I use 27 gal totes and multiple outlets (4 per tote) to avoid clogs. Havent had a clog since. This is with 1" barbed bulkhead fittings (Botanicare is only brand is can recommend. All others leak) and 1" poly tubing.
id try these guys out if u havent cheapest prices i could find and i was impressed with the quality not a single leak so far.
Do you find the under canopy lighting beneficial enough to justify the effort?
Without a doubtā¦because with my RDWC plus topping & scrogging in a smaller 4 x 3 space, my canopy is very dense. Before I added the lower lighting, the lower foliage below canopy was typically yellow & stressed with smaller Bud formation. The bottom of my colas are now much larger & fuller and lower buds mature at the same pace as the tops.
