What kinds of smells are you getting?

@Upstate It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what I’m smelling off the stem rub but there’s some that have almost a mentholated hint to it, one smells a little bit like stinky feet and b/o, a burnt plastic or rubber odour, a couple have that heavy kushy smell starting. A couple don’t have much of a smell yet and a couple that have an offensive smell but I can’t really explain how or what it smells like lol.
It’s still early, I know these smells mutate and change as they flower so it’s hard to say what kind of stinkyness we will have at the end but i have a feeling they are going to stink.

So I’m noticing all of the males carry the mentholated smell I talked about before. They differ in height and bud structure. Some tall some short and some medium. Most have a very loose bud structure except for one, it’s a medium height right internodes and a very compact bud structure compared to the other males.
This one is my favourite out of all of them. The first pic is my favourite and the other is what the other males look like

The females have VERY thick stocks for the size of the plants. They look nice and sturdy to hold heavy stinky buds!
The female smell differ between the mentholated smell to dirty socks/bo. There are a couple taller phenos but most are pretty stocky.

I also noticed that after touching the stems the mentholated smell evaporates off my hand fairly quick and it leaves a stink on my fingers that lingers for a while.

Looking really good so far. Loving the details, keep them coming. That male sounds very ideal. Did you notice which ones showed sex first? Any pollen dropping yet? Will be interesting to see which ones dump first.

@NorthNorthNugs It was actually the hermi that showed sex first. And there’s been 2 more males show up over the last couple of days. One of the taller males dropped pollen first, not a lot yet but one open pod.

2 and 5 looking good in those pics. I agree with @minitiger pull later than earlier. 1 suggestion though is pull the males that showed early… Otherwise looking good man

So a quick update, I’m leaving for work tomorrow for two weeks and my beautiful wife will be taking care of things when I’m gone.
I culled a couple of the really tall/lanky/scraggly males that looked like shit and the staggered the rest of them male/female/male/female.
A couple have just started to drop some dust and I can see a couple pistols turning.
I figured having them staggered like that and her watering should drop pollen on all plants and get everything doing it’s thing while im gone.
I will get some pics tonight and post them tomorrow before I leave.

They’re looking great, @Kushking902! Man-o-man, are those males gonna make a mess while you’re away!
To maximize your seed production, I wanted to suggest that you collect some extra pollen for a 2nd dusting after the ladies have more bud development, but I’m too late - you’re already gone. Still, it may not be a bad idea to ask your wife to put some parchment paper on a baking sheet and set it between the plants, on top of the pots.
