I normally grow organic also, they are both being fed the same as per the directions so it might need a little tweaking. They are getting an extra couple waterings a week over the promix.
Could just be because they’re all seeded up, too. Even if the other seeded plants look better than the Skunks, it might just be luck of the draw. Or whatever haha.
@minitiger Lol as long as they make it to the finish line with an uncountable amount of nice mature beans I’m happy.
The next co op I do I won’t be testing anything new, just going with the tried and true magic dirt
It’s probably a pH thing…check runoff, compare to promix pots. Looks low…underfed as well. I grow in mostly perlite.
Standard ProMix, assuming that’s what you are using, doesn’t have any nutrients, just a peat/perlite blend with some lime to adjust pH.
That being said if you’re just trying to get seeds it’s not really important the plants look their best.
@vernal Not really worried about them not looking their best, I’m testing mantis nutrients with these as well so im just trying to figure out why there’s such a drastic difference. I believe your right with the ph being the issue, these nutrients are not supposed to be ph’ed so I really haven’t been paying attention to that because of the company claims.
So I guess mantis isn’t as well equipped as they say they are lol. Works good in promix but not so much in a completely inert media like perlite. I’m going to start watching the ph with this stuff from here on out.
AN pH perfect is the same way. Seems like it’s better at holding pH near a certain area or has enough chelated nutrients to make pH less important but still isn’t a “don’t worry about pH” formulation. Gimmicks be like that.
I’m sure you’re still gonna have more beans than you’d ever know what to do with regardless. Fully seeded plants almost never look good, either. At least mine never do. I think the plant really does put all its energy into making seed if it gets pollinated enough.
True enough. I just wanted to try it since it’s a newer Canadian company and let everyone see how it performs. I either use an organic soil or run a bio canna cocktail, don’t see myself ever straying far.
Awesome that’s good to know about mantis.
I am currently doing a trial run with the Canadian brand REMO, from the man … well; REMO LOL - so far I really like the results!
I’ve ran that too. It’s super easy to use, cheap and good results. I used it for a couple runs and went back lol. Nothing wrong with Remo at all, it just wasn’t for me
Oh okay awesome: yeah it’s kind of a pain sometimes with the 7 bottles; and I am usually more into the organics, but the price was right and thought I’d check and see if there’s any difference - so far I’m getting a little more smells off my flowering plant + Different colour green ( darker coloured fan leaves)
Mine either. The plants are beat by the time seeds are done, more so with old varieties from what I’ve seen. Its easier for the plants to cannibalize themselves than for them to gather more nutrients from the soil. I was so embarrassed by the looks of the my plants while reproducing Double Panama by the time they were 2/3 of the way through making seeds that I stopped taking pictures lol.
Bro it hurts my feeling to have a beautiful plant going, then pollinate it or spray sts on it.
Making seeds is a huge burden on a plant. And it shows.
Just like humans, they give it all they have when it comes to their children.
TLDR; I seen topdawg post about heime seeds not even smelling like skunk, blue Vienna doesn’t have rks either.
I found similar with the Jamaicans, 2nd half of flower, they looked like they had been abused…
My justification was that the Rastas were after great weed not pretty weed.
Actually it is annoying the shit out of me & I’m going back there to figure out exactly what will dial in their growth without all of the drama.
Cheers
G
Lol I feel the same. I will keep the pics coming though
Looking good! Keep up the good work
So I went in my room before I left to go Christmas shopping, and all through the mall I could smell weed through my mask, the smell definitely sticks to your clothes without having to touch anything.
When I got back home I went out back and all I could smell was pot in my backyard! It’s raining so smells are hanging pretty low that I wouldn’t normally smell.
Edit: FYI I’m running 2 filters! It’s not crazy strong smelling inside the room since it’s vented outside but it’s going through 2 filters to get out there
i mean thats about as good a review for some roadkill as i think anyone could hope for right?
