Electricity bill too high?

Thanks for the chat…sounds like you got it all figured out. I wish both you and your wife health and happiness. I think we all need to smoke more and grow less. I understand some things are a young mans game. I’m getting a little to old to be fkn around now to. Ran pretty hard when i was younger…had i known i would live this long i would have taken better care of myself. Have you heard of, chaga has been used as a traditional medicine in Russia and other Northern European countries, mainly to boost immunity and overall health.

It has also been used to treat diabetes, certain cancers and heart disease. Ever heard of it?

when i switched from gas heat to electric my bills went up a lot …no one ever questioned me as to why …and as far as people who think “they know what we are doing” thats just crazy …how do they know? did you start running lots of big power tools like saws and things because your remodeling you house ? add electric heat …start using a welder? start a wood working business in your garage? how would they know and why would they care? pay the bills on time and do not give them a reason to look

I think its a bit problematic when they can see how much power you use at what time. So when every day at the same time you see at the same time the power spike and then have same usage for twelve hours. I think it would be easy to write a computer program which uses the energy profile to find growers. Also if you give leo any reason for suspicion they get for sure your
completely documented energy profile, which will later also serve for determining the verdict.

Btw if you install solar panels and do electricity yourself and only have the material costs then as a grower you will have fast amortisation of costs. But then the question would be if the power company wants to track that solar power stuff also…

how much wattpeak has one panel?

depends on the panel …and the power is stored in batteries so they would have no way of know how much or when you where using electric …not sure what kind of set up your talking about but my 4 1000watt led lights hardly effect my bill at all …also the veg room which is more then half since it runs 24/7 would just have a steady draw …i think my seedling mat uses more then my lights and i also run that 24/7 when i need to …if leo gets so far as having you in court yer ass is grass anyway …and not the good kind

The wife has been drinking 3 cups of chaga tea every day for months now and that and/or the RSO may be why her latest scans came back with the biggest tumour shrunk back the the size it was a year ago so good news there. The others are smaller and some lesions are gone too.

285 watts x 24 panels grid tied no batteries runs the meter backwards during the day .

old meter? running backwards?

I decided to go only 2x 600 watts hid for flower and will later switch that to self built led.

Is your meter scoring what you produce or does it not feed into the grid at all?

What kind of batteries are you using? How many of them you have? What they cost?

i do not have a solar system …am currently studying how they work so i can put one on my minivan camper build i am doing …you would need a lot of solar and a huge battery pack to run a grow … lights are not the problem it is the fans

My apartment is lit by 2 480w chandeliers. I just got replacement LED bulbs and in total they now run 60w!

I’ve just completely offset all the power I use for my grow.

Best $40 investment ever.

Why are fans the problem? They use very little power compared to lights.

I switch now to led. They will consume 25 percent less electricity at same light output compared to my current lights.

Can somebody tell me if the plants in veg can only use 50% of the given light compared to flowering? If yes, I would dim that light also down.

It’s hard to be specific on what plants will use, but the in veg my plants get 20W a square ft for 18 hours and in flower they get 30W a square ft for 12 hours, same amount of light overall just in a shorter period. 20 to 25W a square ft seems to be the optimum for veg.

Right on. My elec co actually has the word “LIGHTS” next to my account number. They never visit, and i never call, but somehow they know that the majority of my bill is LIGHTS!

Big brutha comin at ya

I was told this too. takes a little fanagling, but not difficult, and since there are no more physical meter readers running around, you can modify ur shit and get it for free if u got the ballz.

I’m using a 9w 5k led bulb to veg

That’s very bad advice as they can tell exactly how much goes into the grid and if the billed amount don’t match what they sent out they start looking. That’s how most grows get busted is by stealing electricity. Good friend of mine is the head of that department in our city utilities. They can detect the loss of 100w incandescent bulb from the grid and can find the exact point of the leak within a day or two. That being said I was also told they don’t give a rats ass how much you use as long as you’re paying the bill. When the police come wanting your usage data that’s the final nail in the coffin and they already have enough to fry your ass

Im not giving advice, sorry if it came off that way. Just mentioning something I’ve seen. If someone is contemplating this kind of thing,I would advise against it, and I doubt my comment will be the impetus behind anyones actions. So now we cant discuss various topics, because we might give someone the wrong idea?
