European sources for STS - Breedbros.com or other suggestions?

Hi,

I noticed that STS chemicals are apparently a bit restricted in the EU. I found one source in Poland - https://breedbros.com/ - which is apparently pretty cheap and has the pure dry chemicals for sale (which I would prefer because they last longer). Anyone ever ordered from them? Are they legit? Did anyone grow regular seed from them? Recommendations?

Checks @Sebring’s Site, diygreenlife.com He MAY still have his 2 Part STS Kit available. Good luck, SS/BW…mister :honeybee: :100:  :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thanks, misterbee. However, this is an American source. Problem with that being that practically every parcel from the US gets opened and I suspect it would get confiscated by customs. Plus, s&h will be pretty steep, nowadays.

So, does anybody know either another European source (EU) or can someone recommend Breedbros from Poland? I can’t find much about them in forums etc.

Most of big catalunian growshop (brick & mortar only) can sell you whatever you need if asked smartly. Compounds, cheap STS in cosmetic sprayer, expensive ones in aluminium jugs … sky is the limit ^^

Hi!

I don’t know which EU country are you, but have tou cheched with duchefa or any of his distributors?
I obtain the components (silver nitrate and pentahidrated thiosulfate) from a duchefa distributor in spain.

Thanks, y’all. I tried the Breedbros shop. Apparently, it is also a Spanish vendor selling the STS as the bank account and delivery is Spanish/from Spain but the website is Polish. I did not order any seeds. Just the STS chemicals. For €36 including s&h it was cheaper than a few other places I checked and most of which had some limitations like B2B etc. I’ll report if and when I got the order.

It took awfully long. Today I finally got my STS chemicals. I had to ask about 4 times and was always given another 2 day announcement that the stuff would be sent. After about reminding them for over 2 weeks the stuff is finally here. Somewhat strange ist the fact that the website is “sort of” Polish, the money goes to Spain and the parcel comes from Poland. Still, I got my chemicals after a month.

Yes. The only part I don’t understand ist why the money goes to Spain. And the people in the Chat seemed to be Spanish as well … but that is just a guess. Whatever. I got my stuff. They do sell some really expensive professional grower equipment on their webpage. Buying stuff like that I would use a safer payment method than bank transfer. After all, they seem to be legit.

Maybe a spanish bot programmed by someone from Poland.

Maybe that’s a joint spanish/polish venture. Maybe the STS is made in Poland and sold through Spain. Maybe the spanish bank account is just a way to remain low profile in Poland where it’s illegal. Lots of hypothesis.

Given the time it took, either they have problem communicating between spain or poland, or they don’t have stocks. With a bit of luck your batch is supa fresh

Keep us updated pls!

afaik, STS is regulated in the EU and may only be obtained by professionals with a need for it.

Twas a rather thick topic amongst astronomers a few years back who need it to do their mirrors.

Germany’s regulation for example:

In seeing the products i recognized the breeder(s) behind ^^

It’s just a weird build (for my opinion) to can be fully international. EU and its temporary eldorado move all the time the lines, you have to adapt all the time. The Polska joint venture look something too, not only an administrative firewall. Not vouching or anything, just explaining it’s not weird at all.

Well, they said they were out of “silver”.

Silver nitrate is regulated, AFAIK. I believe it can be used as a base chemical for explosives. We don’t get nitric acid for the same reason. Still, the amounts we use and buy are absolutely not good for making bombs or such. Everyone with a little knowledge of chemicals could go to a gas station and in the fertilizer department of a gardening store and get all they want. Sadly, there are so many ways to make explosives you just can’t prohibit every single base chemical for those. I would understand the rules if they limited the amounts of stuff you can buy and even require you to register sales so you can’t buy at ten different stores.

I am a mycologist and we need some chemicals for coloring and chemical reactions with fungus tissue. Quite a few of those are regulated but they can still be obtained in small amounts. Some of those cannot be bought in the US, however. Strange rules.
