Yeah, too many years of 20 hour work days just buggered me up. I shoot to get at least 4 hours a night when possible. I do try for more on weekends.
This could be the tagline for OG
20 hour work days is insane man. 4 hours of sleep a night and I wouldnāt even be a slightly functioning human, let alone waking up and doing another 20 hours. I have respect for that for sure.
I ran a business providing security and moving crews for antique shows for 20 years. Used to do the 8pm to 8am shift than leave for my 8 to 4 IT job. Gave me 4 hours to eat sleep and shower before I started again. Works came and went but with kids I would suck up any job that was willing to pay me. They would last 9 days at a time but only one job on weekends. By the end of each show my whole caffeine riddled body would just be buzzing. Stopped that years ago but my sleep habits never recovered, lol.
Mainly run Vitalis Q90 CO2 extraction equipment, its some pretty hefty stuff. Can process a lot of hemp material, maybe something like 40lbs of flower material in like 10 hrs.
As for using crc to remove terpenes, i have not heard of crc being implemented nor have had experience with it removing the terpenes. The only means of removing terpenes i currently know of is through the drying process of the flower (if you want to obviously there are more gently drying approaches), sub critical CO2 extractions (still pulls some cannabinoids and doesnt remove all terpenes from the crude oil), and distillation.
At this processing facility, we do not utilize crc medias to filter out as for our products just regular old buchner funnels and filter paper. I know if you pass the winterized oil through some sort of media you can basically remove any impurities, it just might not be cost effective. I always worry about some of the medias and if they get pulled through with the winterized oil.
May I ask in more detail to what you are trying to accomplish? Is there a specific impurity you are looking to remove?
Iām sorry, I should have explained a bit more.
HPLC is for analyzing potency of cannabinoids in a material/flower/concentrate, given out in a %.
ICP-MS measures the heavy metal contents of a material typically given in ppm/ppb. This is more used for soils, nutrients, and on the final products.
Yesssssss! Give us your knowledgeā¦I CAN FEEL ITā¦glad youāre in the mix @Weedsicle, this place is what we make it!
I donāt know if that measures concentration homie, iām sure you might be able to approximate this sort of thing. I think TLC is typically used for detection of a component, like it can tell you its in there but not how much. Usually used for detecting typically found toxins/impurities.
Can you share the brand, typically the suppliers are going to be the best source of information to use it.
So not even 4 hours of sleep. Whelp I feel like a bigger wuss than the guy wearing leathers on a moped now!
Thatās insane though and takes some serious grit to maintain. Remind me if we ever fight for some odd reason to try and knock you out immediately before you start running circles around me. And letās not focus too much on how sad that is when youāve got a decade on me
@Weedsicle glad you came back around and are jumping in to the community. You just happened along at a time where everything was under a microscope and you got singled out for your posts fitting the criteria that people were looking for. Unfortunate all around but being back we can all benefit from some of your knowledge and thereās plenty of knowledge here to benefit from as well.
Good to see you back @Weedsicle.
What style do you prefer to climb? About how hard? FAās?
Iām just curious, in my playing with hydrocarbon extract I found running it through activated charcoal removed 99% of the chlorophyll. I just like being able to clean up my own creations from low grade material. It seems that after running it with crc medias like magsil virtually all the terpenes seem to disappear.
The tlc I know wonāt give exact numbers, but I have a few strains that Iād like to be able to check for cannabinoids present. Like the cbg strains I have growing, I smoked a bowl yesterday of 1 and it gave me a nice buzz, it makes me wonder if it does have cbg too. Tlc would at least show a marker in the right spot.
I think I need fast blue bb, ependorf tubes, 1ul pipettes and a holder, diethyl ether and hexane still to be able to do tlc. I have the strips, NaOH, and test vials, along with PPE and some lab glassware.
Is there a better way to get rid of a semi-polar molecule like chlorophyll from extracts?
Me whenever an old timer is taking time to teach me lmao
Hmm i really like to more so climb outdoors but for measurable purposes i can do an easy af 5.12 thats my cap. my bouldering tops off at like easy af v6 lol
I feel like these are midwest chicago scored gyms i feel like everywhere i go its different ratings.
I actually replied in the other thread telling you a little bit about what Iām into climbing wise. It is so nice when your gym and local area are sandbagged and tough. Hit the road and go on a sending rampage!
Okay, I see. Do you keep it as the crude oil and heat it? Or are you working with a winterized oil?
Cause if the TLC is showing that the magsil is removing terpenes, thatās the proof enough for me there. Can you verify if it is removing anything besides the terpenes? My question is the ben
Another thought would be depending on your extraction method maybe removing terpene and reintroducing them afterwards. You said via hydrocarbon? So you probably do not dry the flower materials before hand? I am not sure you what sort of processing equipment you have available but its a bit difficult(expensive) to remove and reintroduce terpenes from a processing standpoint.
Need some help here people anyone recognize these gems sent from eastern Canada?
@Oldtimerunderground package arrived safe and sound . Thank you
@Oldtimerunderground for the win!
Agree with @Pigeonman
Yes @Pigeonman is right.
Every time I see Durban Poison I start talking asāeef Ivāe guut a lowdiid guun in māea mouph yah.
