And waiting for a couple promising others as possible rks or male donors

This is awesome man. I’ve got a variety of skunks on the roster I’m really hoping i can find some serious funk in some of them.

I’ve got

Lemon skunk
Durban skunk
Pineapple skunk
Ancestral skunk x gorilla dawg
Ancestral skunk x Turkish hashplant
Washington black skunk
Skunk 1 bx
Skunk 1 x (nl5xhaze)

I also have an order from mr nice auctions I’ve been working on that’s got

ASH
Neville’s skunk
Early skunk haze
Skunk haze
Nl5 x skunk

I figure there’s gotta be some serious skunk in there between everything

This is where I think you’ll find your Loud skunk breeding material. After having experienced many afghan landraces on the hunt for unique chemovars, I have to say that I’m convinced that if Skunk #1 ever was skunky, it was from the afghan used. Shogal from Afghan Selection Seeds had many unique terps. But it was the crosses that was the most crazy of them all. I got a cross which smelled exactly like prank skunk spray, it was so extreamly loud, after about a month in the yar and most of the smell was gone.

Much respect.

Any knowledge from grows you have done that didn’t smell lole a dead skunk is just as important as finding one’s that are :grinning:

I have some of Sam’s “skunk/haze” alot actually

0 skunk and 0 haze. But its a winner if you lole very old school pot.

I hope you the best with ancestral but highly doubt it unless you can grow 100 or more for selecting?

Lemon skunk is close but no cigar. But might have luck on a big run of em.

Durban to me is interesting. My 90s durbans have the rounded almost pea or soy shape to em. Just not the size of rks like snow peas.

May have some luck with Washington. Just based on what I have read.

Skunk bx1 leaning to no.

You will get reekers in the nl haze skunk. Prob more lemon zest haze tho.

Neville is where people should be looking.

That’s a wicked stash either way.

Have you grown devil or shit? Nevil said to look there.

Please share your data mine when you can w what you have

Yup. I actually grew up with moka in Langford in a past life. He was quite a bit older then me. But I used to try to skate his ramp and bought all his used gear off him.

In my own data mining.

Road kill skunk was dead skunk. Oxidized but non sprayed but blown open from trauma.

I found a few pure ghanis in 07 that were actually skunk spray but was more musky then dank. It also lacked the strong citrus nose rks had.

When we add it up: I’ve grown and personally smelled colombian in the jungle. And down wind it was road-kill. Up close it had the jungle darkness plus the citrus. Same thing when it was dried

So I think the ghani or skunky kush x the right “colombian” pheno would get you there.

I’ve crossed all my skunkiest clones I’ve collected in bc and crossed them to sensi skunk, skunk#1, and always got Strawberry.

My conclusion if you use a punnet square is you need the citrus skunky ghani and a road kill colombian so no genes get edited in the offspring

Based on my experience and research: Sam maybe right about the ghani x colombian. Or should I say honest. You jusy need the right ghani / Paki and the right colombian.

Dutch skunk most likely had acapulco gold. No skunk we got in the 90s had it im 99% on that.

@KropDuster Has the nuts of the original rks here’s a quote from his words:
"Last feb 2022 i was able to get road Kill Skunk from James Schnek aka Heime Cheeba from Alaskan Cache. James Family and Associates. Rip James and Thank You for Preserving All These Strains. "
It may be useful to you or someone else in finding this variety …

I have his cross - Skunk Breath is Road Kill Skunk (Hemi Cheeba) x Meat Breath F2 (Thug Pug)
However, he is still waiting for his time …
From my personal experience, I liked Super Skunk from Sensi, I came across a plant with the smell of sweet rotting fruits, it was very good.

super skunk Photo from 2014, sorry for the quality

Thank you for sharing. Beautiful plants. So much history.

If you don’t wear socks with your flippies, your foot will slide in more and they will fit better! Nice grow out though! I hope to move somewhere one of these days that I can grow more plants! Good luck with finding the true skunk! I’ll be watching!

Yeah, I’m from Sweden and I’m too young to been close to RKS. My experience with skunks is this prank spray we used when I was a kid. I just wanted to share the experience I’ve had from growing loads of landraces from all over the world. These crosses with Shogal x Malawi(Carrot pheno) was the only cannabis that I directly recognised as this skunk prank spray.

Hope you find it, would be a hoot to actually try this terp that everyone is talking so highly of, it’s almost too good to be true.

I was lucky enough to experience the Real Skunk back in the day. Very strong pungent, acrid smell. Exactly like a skunk spray but when inhaled it had an awesome taste and buzz. Best I can remember it was somewhat light green in color and had really large seeds. But when it was gone…… it was gone. Ive had several so called RKS strains since, but none were true skunk of yesteryear. I will be following closely as I hope to one day have again the skunk I love and remember. Good luck MM I will be sure to follow along in hope that some crumbs fall my way. You sure are all in on this project. Carry on.

That’s a bummer to hear about the skunk haze. I’be got a few more too from them. Shit was on the list but there’s been a few that I keep getting sniped on. Im the hunt for anything special to use for playing around making some seeds. Im on a kind of super variety hunt gonna be starting a multi strain sea of green soon. My goal is to be some landrace and old school strains to cross with the most special of the new school stuff I have and see what happens. Im really excited to see what the Turkish hashplant does.

I wouldn’t bother looking at anything related to Skunk #1 if you’re looking for RKS. It’s just not there, plain and simple.

I do have the afghan haze too, I tried picking up a nice variety from them. I got their two variety packs Dreamtime and walkabout to hunt through. Angel heart, early haze, master kaze, mango x widow, master kaze, Angel breath, and g13xhaze. My last indoor back in 2012 I grew out mango haze and it was amazing. Wanted to give their gear a good shot and was able to get some great deals with their auctions.
