Loud (road-kill) skunk

In my own data mining.

Road kill skunk was dead skunk. Oxidized but non sprayed but blown open from trauma.

I found a few pure ghanis in 07 that were actually skunk spray but was more musky then dank. It also lacked the strong citrus nose rks had.

When we add it up: I’ve grown and personally smelled colombian in the jungle. And down wind it was road-kill. Up close it had the jungle darkness plus the citrus. Same thing when it was dried

So I think the ghani or skunky kush x the right “colombian” pheno would get you there.

I’ve crossed all my skunkiest clones I’ve collected in bc and crossed them to sensi skunk, skunk#1, and always got Strawberry.

My conclusion if you use a punnet square is you need the citrus skunky ghani and a road kill colombian so no genes get edited in the offspring

Based on my experience and research: Sam maybe right about the ghani x colombian. Or should I say honest. You jusy need the right ghani / Paki and the right colombian.

Dutch skunk most likely had acapulco gold. No skunk we got in the 90s had it im 99% on that.

@KropDuster Has the nuts of the original rks here’s a quote from his words:
"Last feb 2022 i was able to get road Kill Skunk from James Schnek aka Heime Cheeba from Alaskan Cache. James Family and Associates. Rip James and Thank You for Preserving All These Strains. "
It may be useful to you or someone else in finding this variety …

I have his cross - Skunk Breath is Road Kill Skunk (Hemi Cheeba) x Meat Breath F2 (Thug Pug)
However, he is still waiting for his time …
From my personal experience, I liked Super Skunk from Sensi, I came across a plant with the smell of sweet rotting fruits, it was very good.

super skunk Photo from 2014, sorry for the quality

Thank you for sharing. Beautiful plants. So much history.

If you don’t wear socks with your flippies, your foot will slide in more and they will fit better! Nice grow out though! I hope to move somewhere one of these days that I can grow more plants! Good luck with finding the true skunk! I’ll be watching!

Yeah, I’m from Sweden and I’m too young to been close to RKS. My experience with skunks is this prank spray we used when I was a kid. I just wanted to share the experience I’ve had from growing loads of landraces from all over the world. These crosses with Shogal x Malawi(Carrot pheno) was the only cannabis that I directly recognised as this skunk prank spray.

Hope you find it, would be a hoot to actually try this terp that everyone is talking so highly of, it’s almost too good to be true.

I was lucky enough to experience the Real Skunk back in the day. Very strong pungent, acrid smell. Exactly like a skunk spray but when inhaled it had an awesome taste and buzz. Best I can remember it was somewhat light green in color and had really large seeds. But when it was gone…… it was gone. Ive had several so called RKS strains since, but none were true skunk of yesteryear. I will be following closely as I hope to one day have again the skunk I love and remember. Good luck MM I will be sure to follow along in hope that some crumbs fall my way. You sure are all in on this project. Carry on.

That’s a bummer to hear about the skunk haze. I’be got a few more too from them. Shit was on the list but there’s been a few that I keep getting sniped on. Im the hunt for anything special to use for playing around making some seeds. Im on a kind of super variety hunt gonna be starting a multi strain sea of green soon. My goal is to be some landrace and old school strains to cross with the most special of the new school stuff I have and see what happens. Im really excited to see what the Turkish hashplant does.

I wouldn’t bother looking at anything related to Skunk #1 if you’re looking for RKS. It’s just not there, plain and simple.

I do have the afghan haze too, I tried picking up a nice variety from them. I got their two variety packs Dreamtime and walkabout to hunt through. Angel heart, early haze, master kaze, mango x widow, master kaze, Angel breath, and g13xhaze. My last indoor back in 2012 I grew out mango haze and it was amazing. Wanted to give their gear a good shot and was able to get some great deals with their auctions.

Imo it’s the best place for openly known nev genetics. Question is do you have enough space, time and money to look thru it to find it…lol knee deep is just the start

I grew out a bunch of “ancestral Skunk” seeds that I got on overgrow and none smelled even the slightest bit skunky

I’m not in much rush at the moment to blast through all of their stuff. I’ve got so many awesome crosses I’m looking forward to running it’s tough trying to decide what to start with. My plan is to go SOG at least for the first few grows just so I can pop as much different stuff as possible and and be able to pick what I wanna keep around. Road kill is something I would love to find but it’s not a high priority right now. For the time being I’m just on a general quest for dankness. I love variety, so I’m trying to find awesome in all spectrums. Gonna take time for sure until i have the space for a few greenhouses and room for big projects inside but I’ll be there lol I would love to do 100 plus seed pheno hunts. Have a room dedicated to grow males out too. One day lol gotta get these 4x4’s setup first

Yeah, I grew a bunch too. Nothing at all skunky and a bunch of herms.

Unfortunately I know w ack of people that grew cheebas out. Was like skunk 18: not sweet but also not the sour we are all after. Beautiful pics

In the 90s we got 4 main phenos: raspberry sized nugs, golf balls, big chunks and the donkey dicks

All oxidized skunk spray. But the last 2 were the citrus ones.

The road-kill “pink” I got last year is exactly like the raspberry bud pheno.

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you

Nevil close friend and colleague I’ve come to know is an og.

He said Sam never had skunky genetics. That sweet man Sam road the name and sold fruity flowers.

On the other hand he said nev was the sour crew and had the reekers
