I had to pull Zoot (j1 x 88g13hp) out of the tent last night, so I grabbed some flash-on pictures. Day 39. They aren’t the best but it was late lol. Happy Sunday have a good one.

I agree with you 100%. It’s almost like stepping into a different realm when I enter the tent or the veg room. I completely disconnect with all reality and step into their world. It’s a wonderful feeling and I’m truly grateful that we have the opportunity to be a part of growing these wonderful, wonderful specimens. I appreciate them so much that every time before I chop I sit for several minutes and let them know verbally how much I appreciate them for what they have done for me all the way through their life cycle and tell them personally how thankful I am for being able To get the gift of harvest from them

I had a chance to take some pictures tonight, plants are doing great. They are all at day 44-45 of 12/12 except Master #1 in the back right, she’s the fast finisher that went in a week late. The 3 most mature plants are starting to pack on the frost.

Master #1, which is at day 37-38. Now she makes a really good product, but she has what I have come to call “wookie flowers.” I’ve seen this type of flower before with the wookie father. Its all good, but these aren’t fun to trim!
It’s really becoming a challenge to decide what to keep around because I want to pop more beans. I’m giving serious consideration to just bailing on cloning for a while and running a bunch of stuff from seed. There’s that strange fear that I’ll kick myself if I lose something “special” though, so it’s tough. Maybe I use the veg tent to flower a male and just hit a lower branch of everything I grow and make some f2s each run. Im growing way more than I need anyway, so this is also tempting. Any opinions out there let me know!

Yeah the wookie flowers arent a fun trim! How are the HP crosses smelling? All earth funk or some influence from the moms?
Yeah making f2s on a branch or two is definitely an option, though Id keep that male far away. Stray pollen spreads really easily. Ive done it before where right before the male drops pollen Ill cut the top off and stick it in water under a small cfl in a closet, and it will drop enough pollen.
You can also store fresh cuttings in the fridge for 1-2months, so right before flower take a few cuts from each and if any look really promising during flower root the cuts.

I’ve gone back and forth on keeping clones and just popping seeds each run. I’ve said several times now that if I’d have known what I was doing I’d have cloned my first plants and still be running them, but I don’t know that that is true. Honestly I think I’m going to take cuts of everything, but only keep what I really love. Like if it isn’t something I think is mind blowing it’s getting replaced by seed until I find a couple keepers anyway.

Have you gotten a nice lavender pheno with the wookie crosses?
I got into the habit of cloning everything. One of my fist pack of seeds were 24k from DNA. I was still learning so, I was popping one seed at a time 
. Long story short. The first plant in that pack was amazing and I had no reference to compare. The other phenos were good but, that first one was on another level.
Since then I’ve found only three dynamite top shelf keepers(two I lost which is a kick in the dirt). It is a lot of trouble when 99% of the stuff is not really worth keeping. When you have to move or have power problems, you have to figure out the logistics of the mother or cuttings. BUT having those keepers around that you can go back to is something special.
Not going to lie though. Something about popping seeds four that ‘next’ keeper is a LOT of fun!

I don’t think you can go wrong — popping beans leads to great marijuana. Keep clones for fun! I try not to get too attached to genetics. That said, there’s nothing wrong with keeping your favorite genetics around and I don’t know much about tissue culture preservation with plants. For mushrooms, I have sterile water that holds small chunks of colonized agar that will store genetics for years and years to come. Also slants of agar in the fridge that will also last for years.
Bottom line is go ahead and take zero clones — or take 100 — but enjoy the ride :). Plants are looking great btw! I just see a little discoloration on the sugar leaf tips here and there — an untrained eye so it’s probably not even a thing and those buds look great!

Zoot has sweet citrus aroma about her, the Razzberry HP has a strong, potent sour smell. When I get home ill really give them the sniff test.
Thanks man, Im thinking ill have the male tent in my garage if I go that route. I like the idea of cutting the male right before he drops pollen, though the timing sounds pretty tricky!

Thank you bro! And yes your eyes aren’t deceiving you, they all have some tip burn, pushed them a little too hard with the nutes but that’s Ok, at least I know that they have what they need. Its a hard balance, not letting them fade but not hitting them too hard either. All of these plants’ needs are a little different, I’m not going to spoil them by giving them their own nute jugs lol. I should probably pick up a ph/ppm/ec pen.

A little Midnight Coyboy 3 from the first run, a 4 month cure! Never thought I could pull that off lol… haven’t touched the MC jars from the August harvest yet

I agree with this. I had slow’n sweet in my first grow. It cured into the most perfumed bud. I actually started searching the web for what kind of contamination it might’ve been it was so strong. I didn’t dislike the high, but I didn’t care for the smell/taste.

That’s some great looking bud! I talked to a person at a certain shipping company who assured me that as long as it doesn’t smell they won’t even question it. I have not put that to the test.

I’m doing my best to keep the veg tent in control this time around. No matter how much I chop on these plants, they just seem to come back stronger. I can see why plant people call them “unruly.” Still probably 4 weeks left for these ladies in the veg tent.
The 2 phone homes are on the left, 4 clones on the right. No topping or training on the clones, no removal of growth shoots, just fan leaf removal.
