One of the many problems is, when you get this many people editing on a highly-publicized giveaway like this, it overloads the server. People’s clients can’t keep up with the edits, and they end up editing an old version of the list. Even if you’re being careful and cancelling overwrites, you can still end up overwriting. Also, the software is buggy and occasionally conflates two edits that happen at the same time. It’s basically impossible to do a giveaway like this without turning it into a wiki mosh pit.
