I just learned the other day that DEA agents make commission on cash seizures. A customer’s brother is DEA and my customer told me they could give a shit about busting drugs because they just destroy them and move on. When they bust cash they get a percentage of the seizure as a bonus and CI’s get 10% of the take too. Local PD gets paid in the form of a contribution to their overtime fund too.

Makes sense why there’s so many cash busts… And even more the reason banking needs to be opened to cannabis businesses. Legal folks can forfeit money just the same, and many have lost their life savings like this…
