Taxonomically speaking, it was my understanding cows are cousins, at least three times removed, from a proto-marsupial that actually did lay eggs. (Think platypus. I’m not sure why, but think about a platypus for a while.) What is now called a cow’s “bag”
carried the precious cargo until they were freed from their calcified confines. Moo.
