I’m not so sure on the jam-jelly one. Americans have jam and jelly, they aren’t the exactly the same… in that jelly only has fruit juice in it (no pulp), and jam has pulped fruit in it (and seeds unless they remove them).

One thing I didn’t realize… what the British call jelly, Americans call jello (or sometimes gelatin, etc, but I think it’s fair to say Jello has become the generic term).

On occasion these things are pretty off… apparently they minted six in 2007… keeping one in Ottawa and selling the other five. In 2017 thieves stole one of the privately owned coins from a museum.

It wasn’t ever recovered, that part is true.
