Yep, you kids with yer new fangled breakfast cereals! The only real prizes I remember from being a kid were in Cracker Jack. When I was a really little kid, I recall the “prize” being a little printed paper booklet. (They were cool as hell and kids were thrilled with them for a minute or two!) The company jingle was “Candy-coated popcorn, peanuts and a prize.” I thought they were really just cracker jack!

Cracker Jacks in the 70’s had whistles, tops, little plastic ‘pinball’ games…
If all you got was paper/tattoos-- you aint as old as you think!!!
Cereal had Hotwheels, mini barbies etc… stuff you get at McDDonalds now!

I remember when plastic toys first showed up in Cracker Jack, and, of course, that kind of thing expanded into other realms like breakfast cereals. Hershey Bars were a nickel at the time. Something I don’t remember is phone calls being a nickel, but I believe they were once.
