Honestly, Iâm curious about all kinds of things, often things I know virtually if not literally nothing about.
I remain out of likes for five more hours, however, I want you both to know I read them and appreciate your viewpoints.
@middleman, I liked what you had to say, although I agree it seemed inartfully stated.
This is literally the only social site I visit/belong to, so asking a broader audience is virtually impossible for me.
I wonder, are any questions that could be asked about religion in a politically mixed audience that would not be somehow incendiary?
Doesnât sound like it to me.
I honestly donât know⌠it pretty much depends on the audience. This is pretty much my only social site too, but I wouldnât count on being able to ask it safely anywhere. Both sides are busy loudly proclaiming that anyone who isnât with them is against them, and anyone whoâs against them is evil, and itâs tough to get away from. As far as offending me, Iâm not even offended by any of this, just tired of all the politics. Eventually I get tired of arguing and give up, but you caught me this morning when Iâd gotten a good nightâs sleep and had plenty of energy⌠and right after skimming through the news aggregators to see what each side was saying about current events. Iâm always bothered by that, and maybe I took it out on you unnecessarily. If you do really want an answer about whatâs in the Bible though, maybe try looking up a Biblical scholar? This guyâs got time to write memes, maybe he has time to answer e-mails too.
no, someone is being pedantic. it was not political at all, and if it puts down one party, perhaps that party needs put down. i really donât think that most americans are acting like Christians should, but thatâs not my place to judge them. this meme is merely pointing that out, and if one takes offense because it hits close to home, perhaps one should look at maybe making better choices. again, none of my business though. just my take on the meme.
I think there are many seemingly innocuous things in this thread that can be taken very differently depending who is looking at it.
I find that most people who are posting political stuff genuinely donât even think itâs political, because they arenât taking a step back to look at both sides. Being calm and level about explaining it helps to avoid conflict⌠with most people, because most people arenât willing to argue that posting political statements about public policy positions by politicians isnât a political discussion. What kind of sophist would make an argument like that?
This is why |I stay away from religion, too, because even though it may not be political, or intended as political, who knows how somebody will take something about religion.
We still collect DVDsâŚNetflix runs out of shit to watchâŚhave 6 large ringbinders and over 800 moviesâŚour own Netflix and only stuff we actually like!
@NDNCHILD, what do you think of booper-to-pooper? I think itâs pretty funny!
And I wonder what Gril would think if she knew how.
I think this one is political because we all know which politician theyâre talking about wink wink nudge nudge
