I had a district manager call me to come in when I was on vacation, he said it was an emergency.
I told him I was fishing and on vacation…he said “great, you can be here this afternoon, I’ll expect you”…I said “fishing in Costa Rica”…after an awkward silence he said he would ‘deal with me’ upon my return.
I worked with assholes for the most part.

When I went to Costa Rica, or anywhere like it, my cell phone stayed in the console of my car…back at the airport!

I like history (and archaeology), and I thought this story about the Greek origins of Alexander the Great was an interesting read. It’s several pages long and doesn’t have a lot of photos. Here, however, is one of them.
