if you are running it all with one pump (which you should imo), you want your flow fast enough to move your entire volume of water every 3.5-4 minutes. as far as height goes, just set the waterfall return plumbing as high as you can without making a mess or interfering with your lids. greater height=more water disturbance=more oxygenation
