A ferro rod and some fatwood is all I used.
Well a chain saw too…LOL
But I coulda done it with a hand saw.

I usually hunt and carry fat wood, stuff is great. Chaga fungus also work great. Makes a good tea too

Very interesting, that will come in very handy on the island.
We have no oil refinery, gas is sky high, and the nearest station is 12 hours by boat.
What we do have is an abundance of time, so this will work perfectly. 
I updated this thread just now, in case there are family members that have missed it.

No worries brother. The pack in my SUV has an axe, shovel, saw, machete and even a grappling hook to get to those hard to reach places

I saw some old motors in that abandoned building beyond the hills.

Sure bro but one does not waste good moonshine on such things. I can convert a gasoline engine to work from wood 
The process is Gasification and will run engines. During the second world war almost every gas powered vehicle in continental Europe was converted to run on fire wood. Yup, it’s a thing.

Oak island deep started with just a couple feet deep…so we’ll start with a couple feet and bring in the massive cans later ifwhen we don’t find anything

Better be a big one. I’d sit in it and make bubbles, but methane might not be good for the microbes.
