Ok. I’m a little new here. But a question. My soil ph, indoor grow is a little high. 7.5 plus or minus. I got 3 gallon fibre pots with a mix of potting soil, manure, perlite and a touch of lime. How can I get it lowered to proper numbers?
What kind of soil are you running?
Just a potting soil, manure, perlite with a touch of lime.
I imagine you could figure out a way to hack the pH with down etc.
If it were me and I weren’t heavily invested in large amounts of the stuff I might consider going a different route with medium that might be more appropriate.
It’s the added lime pushing the pH up. Since you can’t remove the lime now maybe you could “dilute” it down by adding more potting soil maybe???
You can add a layer of peat moss or mix it if you haven’t planted yet, that would help …
Thanks all. I’ll give some thought.
@purpleFX in soil if you have good microbe life happening in proper soil the soil will self buffer /adjust the ph to where your plants like it and eat it up. that is the good part of organic soil grow. if you feed the soil it will feed the plant. no need to do all that ph stuff. hydro is totally different you have to deal with ph all the time… the meters will not show what is going on in and around the roots.where the magic happens. if you add too much stuff ph or other, it affects the good stuff your plants need. a lot of times less is more. slow and low gets the big grow. dont over work it. enjoy the grow.

On 3 gallon pots, that could cause issues. If it were me I would just water with pH 6 water and call it a day. 7.5 is a touch high, but nothing that should cause too many issues.
If I understand, i belive it is easier to change water ph than soil ph, more variant may lead to disaster so I would keep the soil as it come and I would approach this from the water point because that is what is messing everything.
If you nave a bent bolt you won’t make a bent hole for it, is a double trouble.
I’ll give a try.
So how are you testing your soil pH?
That lime is likely what drove it up, balance it out with some spent coffee grounds and peat moss and that should help bring it back down a bit, can also dilute a fresh squeezed lemon into a gallon of water and root drench
Soil test with electric pH tester.
