Tents full of happiness and love ft. Bodhi and friends

Well… I guess it’s about time I give some thoughts on all the stuff I’ve been growing recently. I read Schmarmpit’s post this morning an it inspired me, haha.

DLA5 S1 from @Vagabond_Windy

Stinky stuff! Smells like funky cabbage, onions, and burning rubber, with a tad bit of mint on the backend of her. The taste comes through nicely on the smoke, but fortunately doesn’t taste like burning rubber, haha. Weird how the smells translate into a good taste. Very, very dense buds, I got a spot of rot in one or two of them. Pretty stoney stuff for me… very good for body relaxation after a long day of hiking or working manual labor. Instantly felt behind my eyes and in my shoulders. I leave this one for evening time, as she’ll put me out if I smoke her during the day. Not much on the mental simulation side of things, but excellent body effects. I like smoking her after dinner and settling in to game or watch some TV. Thanks for letting me try her out Vagabond_Windy!

Fishscale (ECSD X ECSD x Crippy) - from Shoreline Genetics

Very nice nuggy plants that were very easy trim. Smells mostly like chemicals to me, but with some earthy and sour backend. She’ll light up a room when you break up/grind the buds. Effects are pretty middle of the road hybrid for me. I’ll get a little rush at first, that turns to relaxation, leaving me a little tired. I like the taste on this one too, the chemmy-smelling herbs always end up tasting really good in the smoke. Overall and nice and easy plant to grow, could use a little more potency.

Casper OG - Archive Seedbank (Clone from PDX store)

Huge yielding plant, produces huge buds on little tiny fragile lanky stems. Super easy trim as well. The downside is how floppy and weak her stems are. Nice OG smells and tastes coming from this one. Smells like a dank mossy forest with some piney sweetness. I really like this plant - or maybe just OGs in general. The high is really good for me, I get super introspective on OGs, which I like. I feel like I can let my thoughts just roam on endlessly, without care. I wouldn’t say that it is super uplifting, but the high also doesn’t drag me down at the end. Probably not the best for social settings or going out on the town, better for hanging out on the back porch and watching the birds or reading a book. I also tend to get creative ideas when smoking her. Probably going to keep this one in the stable for awhile.

Agent Orange - TGA/SubCool Genetics

A relatively easy plant to grow, though I could have gotten more out of her. This one was in the second round of my non-dumped SIPs and just didn’t get enough food to make her happy. She still yielded ok though. More leafy than all the other plants I grew last round, but still a pretty easy trim. Very nice orange/sweet tangerine peel smell to her that translates very nicely to the smoke. In fact, she’s only getting better as she cures out more. I like the high on this one too, but she’s not super strong at all. Nice good daytime smoke that helps me focus. I get uplifting mental simulating effects, and also helps my tummy out if I may have drank too many beers the day before… which, of course, never happens… ever… Not sure if I’ll hang on to this one forever, especially with the Forbidden Fruit coming up next, which I am hearing tastes and smells better.

Key Lime Pie - Burning Bush Nurseries

A very pretty and frosty plant - what you’d expect for a Cookies phenotype. Nugs are pretty rock hard, pretty easy trim, although not as easy as I was expecting having grown out other Cookies crosses before. I must say she has a great smell and taste to her - and sometimes that’s what I’m after, instead of effects, but that is rare. She does make really really tasty extracts though. Cookies has a bland high for me, just straight middle of the road, kinda dull feeling… It gets me stoned, just not in the most comfortable way. There’s many other things I enjoy smoking more. Glad I’m trading this one out for some booze from my neighbor

RudeBoi OG 7 - Archive Seedbank (Clone from PDX store)

Another stupid frosty plant, but this one actually delivers on the effects. This one snuck up on me, cuz I wasn’t expecting much from one of the cheapest clones in their store. Really great nose on this one, that I really can’t describe the best, but I’m thinking her smell mostly comes from the Irene, so if you’ve smelled that cut before you may have some idea. Nice OG flavor with something I can’t pinpoint, sweet smoky kushy… her downside is the yield. She grows very tiny nugs, even towards the tops, kinda reminds me of the Bubba Kush plants I see sometimes. Effects floor me every time though, strong and potent mind bender that can make me lost if I’m not careful. I usually reserve this one for the evenings too, she just makes me too introspective and mentally aloof to smoke during the days, unless I really have nothing to do. Gonna hang on to this one for awhile, but not going to grow her out anytime soon - looking forward to getting to some more hazey and uplifting cultivars.

GG#4 - Josey Wales

This one has been curing out for about 6 months now and just seems to get better and better. I really like the flavor on this one - especially smoking joints. She’s often listed as having “Sativa” effects, I kinda get that. I usually get really amped up after first smoking her, with a rush of energy and mental simulation, but she will quickly put me down after too long or too much. I’d definitely classify her as more of a hybrid in terms of effects. Smells of old leather, coffee, chocolate, and pine forest. I’m onna hang on to this one awhile too, easy trim, nice yielder, and a taste that is hard to beat.

Like I said earlier, I’m getting kinda burnt on the hybrid and stoney effects… I’m really looking forward to growing out this cut of Jack Herer next. I need some balance there. Also coming up next are Double Dosidos ( ikik, more cookies… but this has Face Off OG in it, which I really like, and Dosidos taste pretty good if you have tried it), also have a cut of Cannarado’s Grape Pie and a cut of Forbidden Fruit.

After growing out all these clones though, I’m thinking of moving back to more seed based growing. Like Schmarm said, there’s nothing truly “elite” about any of these clones, and I feel like you could find even more interesting stuff, hunting through seeds. Maybe I’ll pop these Bandaid Haze IX from Doc next… heard that one is a pretty special line…

Y’all have a good weekend!

Nice! That DLA5 looks (and sounds) deadly. But in a good way haha. I’d grow it and smoke it, anyway.

Yeah, GG I would consider having “Sativa” effects (or at least every batch I’ve ever gotten, never grown it), but, like, my least-favorite type of “Sativa” effects haha. It’s always made me sooooo gawddamn introspective and just a full-on, like,”What am I doing with my life…?” kinda high. And I hate that kind of high haha.

Do it! It’s great weed. Some of the best I’ve grown/smoked in a long time. Don’t let those reports of it being “unmanageable” and “too stretchy” or whatever discourage you. I honestly think the people who say that just don’t know what the fuck they’re doing. Or they’re saying that because they think that’s what everybody wants to hear, I dunno. Those plants I grew were fine. Tall, sure, but nothing crazy. I’ve grown taller haha. I love that weed, though, really happy I have a lot more of those seeds left.

Love the reports.
You did a great job on the S1. Just harvested mine and got spots of rot on 2 of the 8. One one more than the other but it was the fasciated freak.
You’re description of her effects are exactly like the mom. I love smoking a half joint of her when I get home from work and the rest before bed lol
Smells, density and color are spot on as well. :nose: :purple_heart: These S1 seem pretty consistent, if you like short, slow vegging, stinky Afghanis :man_shrugging:t2:

I feel the same way. I actually just told @nube the exact same thing.

Plenty of those to go around if you’d like some, just shoot a pm. :sunglasses:

Hell yeah, your report of that one and others I’ve read really make me want to try it. I just want some summer-time feel good happy herb. I don’t need to have my skull blown open each time I smoke, ya know? Definitely want to F2 that line as well. I’m not scared of the tall or unruly plants… you can tame those beast over time.

Hell yeah, looking forward to seeing how you describe the smells and effects. So far, I think they’ve stayed pretty on-par with what Vagabond experienced. They’re a unique plant for sure, definitely worth checking out.

Thanks again for sharing man! Glad to see the the effects and smells are similar in the S1s, with those minor differences that make it fun to explore.

Can definitely get tired of the more stoney types of bud. I’ve been enjoying a cultivar here in Portland named Mt Hood Magic that is a really uplifting and tasty. I think it’s that terpenoline in the lines like Jack, Durban, Mt Hood Magic that give me the uplifting effects that I’m after, so I’m going to look more into cultivars heavy on that terpene. I’ll let you know how this cut of Jack Herer turns out…

Great reports and pictures! That dla 5 sounds awesome cabbage onion rubber and mint sounds delightful😂 pretty buds too, that agent orange sounds real nice I got a cut of ethos super hero that has a real nice tangerine orange smell that translates to the flavor well not the most potent but I keep grabbing the jar for the smell and taste. You should love the forbidden fruit I had some that legit had the taste of

some of the best tasting smoke I’ve ever tried top 3 for sure hope you have a great weekend too!

Great reports! Thanks for taking the time and sharing your thoughts. For me it feels hard to get in writing sometimes because both you and the weed are always slowly changing.

It appears we’re sharing similar sentiments on a number of things. Best of luck on your journey. It’s a pleasure to follow along.

Thanks, man, but I’m good on seeds. A little too good… haha. Appreciate the offer, though.

For sure. When I first started smoking the BAH, can’t remember which one, I actually wondered if there was a high level of CBD in it, just because it was such a clear high, but also very stony at the same time. I dunno if that makes any sense, but it filled me with confidence haha. I dunno if that makes any sense, either, (I’m not lacking in confidence haha), but I even thought at one point,”Shit, man, maybe I should blaze this before my next job interview…” haha!

The longer it’s cured, the less it’s smoked like that, but it’s still gawddamn good weed, no doubt about it.

i love that chocolate/pine combo, great reviews great weed and great pictures well done dawg, that fishscale and dla5 s1 tho :stuck_out_tongue:

This is good point, as sometimes the effects can vary from day to day with me on some of these cultivars. Definitely a combination of your mindset, surroundings, and the chemicals that come together to formulate the experience.

Thanks for following along and being a source of inspiration!

That’s exactly the type of ganja I’m looking for, something that fills me with energy and positivity. I was thinking about doing a Bodhi pack, but now I’m reeeeeally leaning towards these BAH.

Thanks bro! I wish I could share some buds with you guys and see how everyone interprets them… stupid laws and stuff!

Don’t hype me up too much! haha, my expectations are high!

Do it.

I wouldn’t say it filled me with energy, exactly, but it was for sure a sorta,”Yes, I can do anything I want and succeed,”-kinda high haha. The first time I blazed it, early March maybe, I think it was only ten days-cured at that point, was an amazing day. My friend Natalie, who never drinks or smokes unless she’s hanging out over here, imbibed way too much and got sick. Like, full-on laying in front of the toilet, just wasted for like two hours. And that sucked haha. She actually even peed her pants, we had to give her some clothes once she got up, while we washed her clothes.

At the same time, though, me and my girl were sitting outside, early spring, backyard filled with birds everywhere. At one point, this hummingbird did its thing right in front of us, like eight feet away, hovered and just stared at us for like thirty seconds and then flew away. It was fucking cool as shit. And every ten minutes, I’d get up to check on Natalie in the bathroom, but it was still just… I dunno haha. All I could really think the whole time was,”Yep. I’m sure glad I grew that Bandaid Haze…” haha!

It’s a super-positive high, for sure, although, like I said, it’s gotten more laid-back the longer it’s cured. Still great weed, though. You should absolutely plant some.

exactly, thats why i hate writing a smoke report, specially a negative one when i re smoke it later and i have a good high im like “wasnt i trashing this weed on overgrow 2 months ago?” i just say it get me high, or, it get me high as fuck

YES. It’s so hard to find good happy not-stony weed (esp. at dispensaries). Probably why i started growing. To hunt for the magic of the past.

Not much new to report in my corner of the world. Outdoor plants are getting bigger than expected, hopefully they’ll finish here.

Pakistan Valley 1

Pakistan Valley 2

“OG Kush” Autoflower - smells lemon limey and kinda sweet. No what I’d really consider OGish. Found a spot of rot that I cut off. Not going to yield that much, but pretty cool growing stuff outside - free energy! It’s been pretty warm here lately (85-90s) and everything has just been trucking right along.

T-1000 crosses finishing up: Blueberry (Front Left), GG4 (Back Left), RudeBoi OG 7 (Middle), Key Lime Pie (Back Right), Agent Orange (Front Right). Chopping everything at the end of this week, hopefully.

Wow, man, you’re growing all those indoor plants in those tiny little pots? I musta missed that. Is it just because you pollinated them or…?

Not to hijack the question but I recently flowered out some clones that never made it past their seedling pots; about the size of a soda can, fabric, and filled halfway with a coco mix. I had about 25 of these little ladies, well I say little but they stood around 3.5’ tall. so imagine one big stem, sometimes two or more if topped all scrogged out in a 4x4 area under 400-600 watt LED. I will be lucky if it weighs 2oz. Total waste of time! Maybe I couldve done things better, I did experimental watering as well where I just flooded the trays let the roots wick it up, no draining.

Oh and not all was lost, the paltry harvest got pollinated, seeds are worth their weight I spose.

Yeah, they’re in 1/2 gallon hydro pots with recycled organic soil, but I’ve been feeding them with Pure Blend Pro bloom throughout their life. I wanted to keep the plants small, cause you don’t need big plants to make a lot of seeds, and that’s all I’m after. I bet the Blueberry will have a couple hundred seeds on it’s own. The plants wouldn’t make it through in those tiny pots without some fertilizer help…

Yeah I suppose it depends on the cultivar, some plants are really good for doing what you’re describing, or what I always called SOG or Sea of Green. Some plants would probably do terrible at it, like the RudeBoi OG pictured above. With SOG I think it’s best to find one proven cultivar that produces long totem pole buds, and you know will be ok with a smaller container space. Then cram as many clones as you can of that cultivar in a tent and chop all the lower branching and let them grow straight up. I’ve seen people pull some crazy weight using this method, but I’ve never done it myself, because I like the variety. Good luck on your next run though, at least you got some seeds out of it to play with!

It’s been damn hot here this week… A few days with temps over 100f. The Pakistan Valley’s have handled the heat like champs, though. No shade screen or anything. I’ve been debating on wether it’s better for the smart pots to make direct contact with the ground, so that the roots could grow thru the pots, or leave them in the trays, so they can suck up the excess water. I’ve had to water them at least twice a day for the last couple of days, and a couple days, three times a day. They’re only in five gallons, could have definitely gone bigger. I’ve been feeding PBP at about 20ml per gallon. It’s crazy to watch how fast they can suck up the water… one day the smaller one was on the verge of wilt… within three minutes of watering, all of the leaves went into “pray mode” again.

I did add a rock mulch layer up top to help with the evaporation and to give home to critters and fungus that choose to live there. Think I saw that trick on someone’s instagram, seems to work OK so far.

Beautiful! Shaping up to be some monsters.
I’d let them roots run if it were me

Like the addition of the rocks as well. I also scatter rocks around on top of my bed. The worms love it
