Yeah, roundabouts are relatively rare in the US except for maybe the Northeast. No one knows the rules.

Imagine encountering a roundabout, that you’ve never knew even existed, for the first time.

Roundabouts suck! Hundreds have been placed in central California over the last decade. They are a mess! So many accidents, some fatalities. They work well in UK, not in USA.

There putting roundabouts everywhere here in Ontario. There was an episode of Myth Busters where they compared how much traffic went through over time for roundabouts vs four way stop sign intersections. Roundabouts won no problem. You just need to get used to them I guess.

Here is a great roundabout in the UK in Hemel Hempstead, been over this a few times, the first time was a bit scary even after driving in the UK 30 odd years before encountering it.

One big roundabout with mini roundabouts around it.

That one looks a little challenging. I spent a few years in England in the early 80’s. I brought my American car over there (I was 20), had to drive on the left (with an American car). It took a bit to get used to, but I sure put a lot of km on that car. It was the first time I encountered a roundabout and it was very intimidating. Fast forward 30 years (where the hell did the last 30 years go), I’m no longer intimidated, but most American drivers seem to be and it is 10X worse than waiting at a traffic light.

I get it @saxo . From what I’ve witnessed at roundabouts in USA, most don’t seem to get it.

We have a few roundabouts near me in Jersey but there used to be more. They had to remove some because the NYer’s that come down in the summer were constantly causing accidents. It feels intuitive to me because I grew up with them but I guess if you’ve never seen one before it can be a little intimidating/confusing. I’d rather drive roundabouts all day then drive around Manhattan.

yeah Ocean city and Atlantic city used to have them, Sommers pt.

Was cleaning the house awhile ago and had my vacuum inside my air return vent pretty far and ended up pulling out a coffee cup from 15-20 years ago that someone either put there because they’re lazy af or just to screw with someone in the future lol. Cups haven’t looked like this in ages.

I guess I can’t talk, when I re did my flooring last year I drew a bunch of penises on the underlay of the flooring in permanent marker so whoever re does the floor when I’m gone in 10,20-,50 years is either gonna get a laugh or sideways eyes when they see my “art” :stuck_out_tongue:
