Vertical farming @Ttystikk

Each 4 COB water cooled module cost me almost $400. I have an embarrassing number of them lol.

The 4’ long 250W bars cost $500. I have an even more embarrassing number of those lol

Unlike many, I’m not trying to claim my methods are better than anyone else’s, I’m just working within my limitations to maximize yields.

I haven’t seen many people try to grow big plants indoors, and most who did used stupid amounts of wattage- up to 10kW per plant stupid, seriously!

Lol, I’m not even close to dialed in! I think there’s a lot of potential yet to be tapped. Here’s a pic of a 25oz plant I grew in a 5 gallon bucket of Tupur with 900W of COB LED;

There’s a vertical growing specialist company that’s close to me. I need to go on a field trip… To Wyoming?!
Search YouTube for Bright AgroTech, or I’ll see if I can embed a clip here;

Well you kill it brother! You let me know if ya ever get tired of any of those cobs and want to lower your number to a less embarrassing amount hahaha

And that’s crazy - 25 ounces is nuts, imagine when you have it dialed in…

Makes me want to do vertical on the 1x1x2 challenge. Double my surface area growing vertical on the 1x2 side vs horizontal on the 1x1 side. :grin:

My best in the 5 gallon buckets was 27oz. My best in RDWC with the same setup was 32.5oz. turns out that RDWC is easier, too.

Both of the above numbers were for plants just growing on one side of the trellis panel. I think using both sides allows plenty of room for improvement (see what I did there?).

That’s insane man, pat your self on the back

wow and how long do you veg those plants before flowering to get 32 oz ?

@GumbyBuds thanks, man! I’m not the world’s greatest grower by a long shot. I’m sure all of my results can be improved upon.

@legalcanada the overall veg time was about 3 months from the date I took the cutting to flip. While that seems like a long time, using perpetual gardening techniques allows for much closer cropping cycles. At one point I had 5 bloom racks running, which reduced turnover times to just 11 days!

Keep in mind that every plant on a trellis panel is FULLY PORTABLE, no matter what stage it’s in. This means that I can move the entire plant from one place to another without damaging it. I can and have moved them across the room, around the house and even into a truck and to another facility across town.

What that portability means is that turning over a bloom rack can take as little as ten minutes. It took longer than that to dump the old nutes and fill it with fresh solution…

@Jellypowered LOL

I’m just a crazy old fart fucking around in my basement.

My next trick is gonna be pulling ten pounds from 3 plants… A month.

It might be awhile. It took years to get to where I am now.

No problem, you will help me learn patience.

That’s one thing this hobby teaches us right away. Waiting “9 weeks” is nothing nowadays.

There will become a special brand of advice you will come to cringe at/love from @Ttystikk. I call it the Think Dummy Love style of the 12 jedi masters.

Sometimes he will say stuff bluntly, but it’s never meant to come across as cross. It just kinda makes you go, “oh, I should have thought about that… dummy”

I do try to only dish out the nasty shit to those who pull it first. Sadly, there are a lot of those clowns there.
