Even back when the Beatles were really hip, I never really liked them. I much preferred the Rolling Stones back then. By the mid to late 1970ās I heard some jazz covers of the Beatles that exposed me to some of their fantastic melodies. Itās funny that I never enjoyed the Beatles, but came to absolutely love some of their sumptuous melodies. It is the vocals which turned me off, and without that distraction I became sort of a roundabout fan of some great melodies.
Mehldauās new album consists of his interpretation of 11 of their truly beautiful melodies.
