Win a microBIOMETER [Closed]

I have been using a local outfit for my soil for yeas but am interested in making my own Super Soil mix. The stuff I’ve been getting is fine for raised beds and my veggies but I found not so good for fabric pots and my weed.

My favorite soil mix is my own! Great local black dirt, mushroom compost, some peat and coco, vermiculite, plus amendments like green sand, blood meal, etc. Mix 'er up and let it sit for a little. Plus mixing my own allows for me to adjust for more / less moisture retention (fabric pots vs. plastic).

Would love a deep-dive into soil microbiology!

New grower so that would be a great idea :bulb:.

It’s my first grow so I don’t think I can say I have a favorite recipe yet. I tried my own blend of some pre mixes, seems to be working well!

This would be handy testing the quality of compost and worm castings, I’ll throw my hat in the ring.

I like to use the Coots recipe with added bokashi

Cheers, Fatty

I mix my own with promix as the base

My favorite soil mix is the one I’m not using yet. I only started back growing 8 years ago and use ProMix, EWC, and 10% or so of FF Ocean Forest. Then Roots organics dry nutes and a couple of amendments, with microbes, trace elements, and silica.

I’m just starting to learn and incorporate KNF, and the goal is to be 100% sustainable soon. I’ll be collecting the local microbes, so it would be a welcome tool to add to the crib.

Thanks for being a part of our OG party. peace

i’ve only used fox farm ocean forest but lately i’m not happy with it and would like to change to something else.

I mix in earthworm castings at 1:8 ratio with coco coir and sprinkle a mycorhizzal innoculant in my seedling/transplant holes. Occasionally I’ll mix in dry amendments for early phase growth as well. The EWC+Myco seems to make a difference but would be great to test and find out definitively.

My soil mixes are my own.

What a wonderful prize! My favorite soil is build a soil. Love the organic living earth…just what plants want and deserve! Thanks for supporting our community!

Im always trying out something different. I can never stick to the same thing. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

Happy 420!

Kis Organics biochar, amended Coast of Maine stonington mix is a close second.

My favorite soil mix is my own,

2 parts compost
1 part coir
1 part perlite
Dr earth herb and veggie 1 cup per 10 gallon soil

My favorite soil mix is home made with some old manure, dol lime, perlite, and a bag of promix.

For my indoor grows, i mix near equal amounts of coco, peat and perlite. Then i add some water and microwave it to kill the fungus gnat eggs. For my outdoor raised beds, i use locally found commercial mixes mixed with commercial manure-based compost.

Thank you for the raffle.

I mix my own soil using a modified coot’s from a recipe from another OG’er.

:green_heart: :seedling:

As a recent adopter of organics it would be pretty cool to see what’s going on in there so count me in @microBIOMETER !

Have plants in ProMix HP for the base with 3 different manures and all sorts of other organic goodies added. Seems to working fine if I don’t screw it up by mixing in the wrong things.

Now trying out Gaia Green stuff on some plants and both ways need a good bio-herd to grow them well.
