These particular efforts (CO-OP and boxes) are volunteer efforts and, as such, they have a number of risks. There have been failures and lost efforts while the bulk have seen success. If you don’t handle risk well, avoid participation. This has been echoed a number of times.
Sebring is and has been integral towards organizing and distributing for such efforts for years. 1000’s of packs shipped and received safely at minimal expense. He’s not profiting from this, those involved in the CO-OPs do not profit. The time individuals commit is free and, for the most part, altruistic and a labor of love.
Few can, are capable, or are willing to step up to handle the 1000’s of packing, organizing, correcting errors / verifying, responding to a flood of PMs and questions many of which have been answered, labeling, postage, associated finance, and risks for doing so; while handling the evitable lost or damaged package and then having to deal with complaints. Try this in your free time with a job and family; and then do so consistently year after year while, at the same time, seeing the demand increase exponentially.
The ability to be empathic and understanding goes a long way in life. He has made his comments noting some temporary difficulties. He’s also made a call for assistance for future efforts. Commenting on how you’re better at life and business illustrates a lack of understanding of how such things actually work.
There will be disappointments and problems from time to time. There are risks associated with every link in the chain. That includes the USPS which has been a complete shtshow for the past couple of years. The community has been agile to date to make adjustments but it is an on-going effort that will never achieve true perfection or produce guarantees. It’s not set-up to do so. Rather, it’s best effort.
What you can do at the moment:
Reach out to Sebring for status in PM and, if it hasn’t been sent, suggest a refund of the amount.
If you desire increased surety, avoid the volunteer army. Check out JBC, GLG, SHN, et al.
