Haha. Im experiencing a bit of trouble in my tent. My Bubba Kush plants have something going on. Need to do some research.
I Think i need to quit using “used” soil and start everything in virgin soil. Ive been using it a LONG time probly just need to dump it and start new.

Ive always been scared to use older soil… i know some do… its intimidating for sure brother… goodmorning mike i hope your day is a great 1 brother!

Good morning brotha! :coffee: :sunglasses: :vulcan_salute:

Hope your having a great weekend!

PH swing maybe, Also a little compost bin tumbler would help save some cash on refreshing you used soil. I do it with my chicken run compost from the run. black gold. Mix 50used/50compost in totes but I do have to buy pearlite to add unwise Its too fine, compaction and lack of air flow in the soil is something I had to learn the hard way.

If I use older soil I do a runoff check of ppm’s to get an idea where it is then add nutrients until I hit the spot I want to start with. Soil is just something for the roots to hold onto after the first few weeks anyway and all the nutrients are provided by us anyway…
I can’t see where it make much difference than growing in coco coir. It has zero nutrients at first…

Maybe I’m wrong. I know there’s good bacteria and such that are in soil that may be depleted… Maybe…
What do you think guys?
Am I just too high right now? lol

I think the microbes would stay alive unless the soil dried out completely

I havent run Coco so I couldn’t add anything on that front.

For soil, I put my defoliated leaves in there so it will continue to feed the microorganisms.

On a different note, I’ve heard that too many worms in the bin can be a problem too as they eat all the minerals out of the soil eventually.

Flush all your used soil with 6.2 or so ph’d water.
Mix in happy frog soil conditioner or fox farm ocean forest in a 50/50 ratio. Add some perlite to the mix and you have refreshed soil ready to go.

Well shit!!! I may stop tossing my soil away

Yeah. This works well. This is probly the fifth or sixth run with this soil. Normallyi just flush it with water until i get under a hundred PPM. I may have not checked the ph. Cant remember. The bin i use for used soil is outside it got rained on heavily and was pretty cold when i transplanted. Maybe a little too cold??? Im leaning toward a calcium problem.
