Club Quadrant goes Feminized

If you raise the plants high enough that my back holds out for a full watering, they get too close to the lights eventually. I’m actually removing my table now because I’m using these buckets. I’ll also be able to get a better look at them now.
Win Win.
After the plants get some size on them the handles on my buckets become useless. However, the slots where the handle attaches are not useless. I have the perfect thing to use to build some long lifting handles so I can move them without bending over.
Here’s another idea I am tossing around. How about a clear tube outside of the bucket where you can see the level of the res? That way you can see it with no problem while standing. That’ll help with those plants on the back row.

I would like to comment that Home Depot buckets are superior to Lowe’s buckets

I would like to point out that Tidy Cats litter buckets are sturdy as can be and they are square so you have a little larger res in the bottom. They work too. I have proof. lol

I was looking at something very similar to those inserts, but they wanted like 50 a pop! How do they wick? Or are they just relying in capillary action of the medium?

I do pure hydro, and any clear tube that receives light will quickly turn green with algae, so I don’t think that’s a solution. These look cool though.

Then I do believe some white paint over dark primer is in order for my bottom buckets because I have no doubt that light penetrates the walls of those buckets.

Well, don’t jump on the buckets based on my comment, but I’m pretty solid on the clear tube thing.

Heat and light seem to be the 2 things that are the bane of fertilizer reservoirs. You get slime and algae, then it’s inevitable that ph problems follow. Good luck!

If, once a week you drain the res and put in clean water with fresh water and nutes, the problem should be minimized, correct?

I’d surely try that first, and maybe you’ll learn you can’t or maybe you can actually extend your clean out time.
I’m a big fan of trying chit and seeing what happens, but I’m kinda lazy that way.

A cork with a plastic stick. The cork will float on the water, and you can mark the stick with tape to indicate water levels. Put that in your watering tube. (I haven’t tried it, but I’ve seen someone use/built it and it seemed really handy.)

I did something similar to what @DannyTerpintine suggested and all from the dollar store.

1 x Bubbletea straw (thick)
1 x plastic drinking straw (long)
1 x foam ball

I cut the plastic drinking straw’s end making it stabby. This goes into the ball and I used a little hot glue just to be safe. The bubble tea straw is cut in half, and sits securely in the lid of the res where it now acts as a guide ad indicator level for the straw as it floats up and down.

The bubble tea straw also acts as a light-trap so you don’t beam light directly into your solution.

:v:

Lmao  nice

With the buckets I’m using there is no way to clean the res, just fill and wait for it to empty. Then fill again.

Everyone: After careful consideration, I’ve chosen the only 2 seeds I’ve found so far from crossing the Chocolate Thai F5 with the Lemon Thai Male Pollen…

Chocolate Thai F5 Female x Lemon Thai male pollen IF everything goes well, we will end up making, Feminized Chocolate Thai F5 X Lemon Thai & crossing That with a very beautiful Cake strain. Resulting in CHOCO-LEMON-CAKE

Let’s make some kickA$$ Cannabis… & pray that 1 of these is Female …

There are a few reasons why these two flavors are a perfect match. First, the acidity of lemon helps to balance out the chocolate. Second, the citrus flavor of lemon brightens up the rich chocolate flavor. And lastly, the two flavors simply complement each other perfectly
