Co-op Strain Donations and Breeder Match Ups

I have another line with the 78 Skunk I could use as an Incross for Skunk 91.
I could also wait for the next Fgen of Sk91

That’s correct. If this line was refreshed for another co-op run, the breeder would definitely need to cull any herms to ensure the integrity of the line.

continuous breeding without eliminating herms could reinforce that undesirable trait in subsequent generations.

I wouldn’t mine some more cheech wizard seed if someone’s reproducing. Sprouted and got 3 to come up .

So @Craigson15 offered up most of his vault earlier this year to auction, and I got a ton of it lol, is there something in particular folks were looking for from him, he is still around, still growing, but I think he decided to let life take the lead, instead of growing, which I commend.
But I haven’t quite looked at this thing in a while, and have no idea what’s happening beyond seed run discussion lol

I have a pack of Cheech Wizard that I will gladly give to you, if you want them. From one of the Boxes.

@coopactiongroup Reaching out about potentially getting a green light for a co-op run of Cannabiogen’s Punto Rojo.* This is a hybrid line tied to Colombian ancestry.

*ideally with multiple growers collaborating

It’s a very long flowering variety, 16-22+ weeks according to seedfinder.

Charlie (the original breeder) started this project in 2010 and by 2012 had worked punto rojo selections from “… 3 different places and ages, from highland purple to green phenos, from central/south to northern Sta Marta Punto Rojos.”

Here are the phenotypes as described on one of the other forums by satva:

  1. Light-Green with red stems - Punto Rojo -1, gold. The high I like est so far.
  2. Punto Rojo - Green with Red Points - Long flowering ~ classic Punto Rojo with droopy leaves.
  3. Green good resin pistillate flowering structure - corrugated leaf earlier flowering dense flowering- leaves pointing upright
  4. Maroon - Red - Purple- looks like its on fire. Probably what SamS called Burning bush- Rootbeer aromas
  5. Dark Green - Purple - corrugated leafs calyx flowering
  6. Punto Rojo - 3 “Marron Bells” Green -Maroon ~ Rainbow - Rootbeer aromas
  7. Green - silver - methane - petroluem aromas. Very long cure to mellow out into a pleasurable high. Intense cerebral high.
  8. Green - Sweet Tropical Fruit
  9. Tree Resins - Frankincense, Pine, Cedar, Sandalwood, Black Pepper
  10. Wintergreen, Citrus, Rose, herbal, Carrots

Feedback regarding effects:

“Colombian Red high …is Zen like, it has a feeling I call contentment, its a slow frequency vibration that’s feel good, feel God, and feel euphoric. Highland Reds can be trippy and have some stone.”

Some pictures for a point of reference >>>

In principle, I’m hoping this line meets the criteria as Cannabiogen closed down their seed operation. Foreign hybrids will become more prevalent as the Colombian cannabis industry matures and attempts to keep up with the latest trends. This provides an opportunity to capture a snap shot of the “punto rojo” genetics available at that time.

Those first two pics reminds me of what I use to see in Texas in the late 90’s early 00’s. I definitely want to see this one move forward.

Hi @US3RNAM3
Do you have an original breeder pack from cannabiogen? what seedbank did you get it from?

Are you planning to do the breeding for this seed run?
Or do you have a volunteer breeder ready to work on this?

These are all question that need to be known before a vote in my mind also.

Hi @zephyr

Do you believe in miracles?

I’ve been in proverbial injury time, pursuing every avenue to secure these seeds — hoping that a miracle will materialize.

I do not have the original breeder pack, I have been working to secure one of those or any original (authentic) Cannabiogen seed stock.

To my knowledge, the remaining Punto Rojo choices for banks has dwindled down to the growshops in Spain. Namely, Growlowcost, Satiguana, and Cultivo. There are other shops that carry Cannabiogen seeds but those seem to be the only 3 that have Punto Rojo. Cultivo confirmed inventory - they do not have original packaging, still awaiting confirmation from the others.

As an alternative, there are some members here that may be willing to trade away some of their colorado sativas punto rojo seeds (believe they are F2s of cannabiogen’s seeds)to aid in this repro effort.

I would very much like to join the Punto Rojo seed run but am not sure whether it will be possible.

There are various growers/breeders that have expressed interest:
@GREANDAL @Wuachuma @RoryBorealis @Ras

I apologize for any inconvenience my logistical short-sightedness has caused, i anticipate that I will have greater certainty on seed source within the next week. Would it be best for me to delete my original post/coop proposal until seeds are in hand?

Thanks @US3RNAM3
Let’s revisit voting for this project when you have all the details lined up.

I’ll just move your original post to the co-op strain donation and breeder matchup thread. You can continue working on your volunteers and seed sourcing there.

edit-
Thanks @US3RNAM3 the posts have now been moved to the donation and breeder matchup thread.

Not sure if these guys are reliable but it says they have stock. I never ordered from them myself

Nevermind don’t bother looking lol. They have an option for 1000 seeds of something everyone else is sold out of. I should have looked at that beforehand. That seams sketchy

Im actually talking to a guy in Colombia to try and get in touch with Kaiki.
Im gonna give Kaiki the BOEL Hawaiian and see if he has anything he wants us to preserve.

I see JTR on the list in the OP

Thats a great line for pain, literally saved my life - got me off dilaudid.

Theres THCV to be found in there.
I grew the cut, so I know the morphology to look for.
And it has a strong lemon smell.
I actually got into breeding for THCV when I smoked that JTR for a couple years and realized how dark it is. I wanted to breed Blueberry with her to make it a more chill, euphoric high. But I had to give the cut back when the guy who owned it went legal in Washington. So then I started working with other sativa hybrids like Cherry Cake (Golden Tiger dom) by Doc d. Doc appreciated the work I did so much he gave me the last of his Cherry Cake F1s. But lost those in the fire last year.
Fucking unicorns. I feel ya, Nicholas Cage, I feel ya man.

Edit - cant post 4 in a row

I just talked to Kagyu on the phone.
He’s such a chill dude.
He’s gonna run this BOEL Hawaiian next year.
He also said he got original seed stock of Haze, pre-Sam haze.
He asked me to send him a list of what I want from his stuff. Im thinking that Kauai Electric looks real nice. I wanna ask if he still has his older work woth M10 and Puck/NL. I had some Chem 101 from Sungrownmids and it was perfect.

We talked about Kaiki and he said Kaiki moved down to Colombia near Red Ryder to work on the Colombians together. Idk if you guys remember, but Red Ryder had one of the best ICMag threads on Lumbo.

So, yeah, some really fucking cool things are happening in the preservation community.
