Early girls (showing sex in veg)

Wanted to share these photos - these are 3 different photo period plants, still in veg @ 18/6 under a metal halide. All shooting female pistils at about 6-weeks.

I don’t usually notice, but is this fairly common?

Yeah 6 weeks is usually where they show for me.

It’s really common, at least at the base of those nodes. It doesn’t mean they’re flowering, it just means they like to show their bits  If they start coming out the apex of the new growth, well then that’s a different story.

Usually see mine around 4 to 5 weeks

Yeah, early would be three weeks or sooner in my mind.

I like it when they show sooner, then later.
Can weed the males out and make more room for the females. :slightly_smiling_face:

I had this old seeds and I ended up germinating one to see what it was, by the 5th week or so she started flowering, probably an auto seed from a stressed auto plant, I was really happy to have one more plant to continue my 1st ruderalis adventure and was good smoke afterwords.
In your case I would wait one week in the 18-6 see if they start flowering or are just showing sex as it seems.

They are telling you they are mature enough to flower.
