If the ambient temperature outside the tent is normal room temperature, then the LED will be fine, the tent will be slightly hotter than room temp. You can adjust your exhaust fan speed to go hotter or cooler. For people who grow in a cold basement or similar then the lack of heat could be an issue, but for most circumstances, and especially in the summer, it’s better.

You will appreciate the extra space if a 4x4. But that all depends on how large you like to grow your plants. 1 plant in a 5gal pot should easily fill a 4x2. For sure 2 will fill it up.

The more I learn the more I anticipate I will want to have all kinds of little projects going on. Also with kids at home (middle school age) I have lots of high quality leftovers that could be put to work. Lots of organic scraps, for example. We probably go through 10-12 organic avocados a week. I just figured, DO IT.
Yeah the room I will be using is in a finished basement which does get cool on winter nights… But by the time I’m ready to pop my first beans we will be well into spring. And by the time winter rolls around again I’ll have maybe half a clue about what I’m doing…
