I’ve just switched to nights, I work 4 on 4 off, 2 days, 2 nights… usually on my switch to nights I go to bed a little late and wake up super early (like 3 am) do a few chores, watch sports and news, smoke a few jays and sleep for a few more hours before my shift starts, im then on my nightshift schedule. I used to try and stay up till morning and then sleep the whole day until my shift but I was always falling asleep too early and it didn’t work so well for me. All the shift workers at my mill do it the same

Thanks for the idea. I work continental shifts 2 on/2 off, 3 on/3 off, 2 on/2 off ect ect 2 weeks nights/ 2 weeks days.

Those shifts sound pretty sweet actually, except the 2 weeks of nights part, but you can probably get into nightshift mode. I like the 12 hr shifts 4 on 4 off. 4 days off is stellar, and it rotates through the month so I get weekends off twice a month. I like weekdays off better though, less people fishing, less hunting, 4x4ing, camping… all the banks and essential services are open

Same with me man. 12hrs shifts max 3 days in a row of work. Every 2nd weekend off.
Night shift = 20% premium in pay ,) so I actually prefer nights hahah

That’s not bad at all! My shift is 21 on 21 off, 12 hour shifts. Rotating days and nights. It was 28 on last year! Way too long
21 days on would suck ass. But 21 days off would be amazing.

I worked those shifts in Alberta four a couple years about 7 years ago, I actually enjoyed them too. I just like lots if time off, even if I have to work lots to get it. I like traveling, 3 weeks or a month off work awesome for going abroad
