The Grip tape on my Birdhouse board destroyed mine.I liked wearing them with my Jncos they were wide and fat and kept your pants above the bittom of your shoe so they didnt get soaked when it rained out

I liked element boards, always Darkstar grip. That stuff was sticky…ya it would do number on my kicks too. But we were running through them skating parks and schools. I would have to get a new pair every 3 months. And that’s skating all day every day. It was nice when the prize in the contest was a pair of kicks. Now I wish I never shredded all those sig. Pairs. They were sick. But tools nonetheless.

I got my first job when i was 15 to afford my Clothing habit more than anything.I went through so many shoes on the old CSC catalog i went and made friends with another kid thats older bro worked at that Clothing outlet store to get stuff from.My jncos were running at least 125$ a pair sometimes and in the 90s that was alot.Fuck you could get a car that actually ran for 400$ back then might have some rust and be missing a bumper but it would get you to work lol.And here my little shit ass is buying 3 pairs of pants a week and a pair of shoes that was around 115$ maybe then Toss some new trucks maybe a new deck some deck wax more grip tape .Life was simpler dude lol

Man you guys brought back some memories for me, I just ordered a dirtbag to relive my glory days haha.

I used to really love these shoes, Ipath Cats, they were a bit advantageous when playing because the lip of the shoe allowed for a sort of catch basin for stalling, here’s a picture of the shoe -

I still have a pair of mine that the soles are wore completely out, I have always intended on getting them re-soled because I always loved these shoes and on the vintage sites they want an arm and a leg for them. They also made a few editions out of hemp and had a secret pocket in the tongue of the shoe, which was advantageous in a different way .
