So the weather here is a fickle Massachusetts April. A few days ago it was 90. Next 3 nights in the 30’s.
Today it will be 50° by noon, an I wanted to put the babies out for a couple hours, at least 3.
Several of these plants sprouted and grew in a 60° degree room. So I’m hoping the babes will be fine.
Besides these I have some 4-5" sprouts still in their ‘shoe-string’ phase.
I’d be interested in any advice.
Note: The sprouts and seeds have both been on adventures to the porch for the warmer weather. They have been through 30° temperature swings already, but I have moved them in when it has gotten too cold.
This is one of those times where that plant will be most effected by the smallest thing.Sprouts tend to have more detrimental long lasting effects if something happens to them when they are that small at that age im finding out.Keep them out the cold an extra week inside is worth more that shooting your self in the dick and being pissed later.Wait it out a bit brother good things come to those who wait. You’ll be fine Homie
Yep, keep them warm at that stage, the cold will only hurt them as they are extremely fragile still . Personally I like a heat mat underneath with a tray in between to dissipate the heat a bit, I find with the heat in the soil they THRIVE. I’ve really been experimenting with seedlings the last couple of years as I’ve been popping hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and now I keep them off of nutes until I uppot, have added the heat mat AT ALL TIMES underneath (in fact I really want to just buy a huge one instead of having to keep 5 going all the time) . And a fan hitting them just enough to sturdy up those stems. These three things are now imperative to my seedling starts. Hope this helps in some way bro
Negative, but that’s dope. I’ve seen huge ones at the grow store before, never even looked at price but I’m sure it’s stupid and not like I’m in a position to get it atm anyway lol…. dreaming that’s all, I need a light first and foremost now! I’m falling apart over here ffs
Wow, that’s so funny you say that. When it got cool here, I used the electric heating pad I used for my shoulder after
My operation!! Just put it down then a towel, then my case boxes with solo cups…
