An air of mystery generates sales as does moral ambiguity.

I am a member on all the forums… and have been for a long time. Never said this wasn’t a great forum, simply that some actors drag it down as bottom feeders do.
I posted this because in 2005 when I first started growing, I read to use bottom heat. Which depending on the environment (typically an 78 degree room) is a horrible idea. I had the notion that “if it isn’t broken” until I started loosing valuable genetics and realized how broken it was. If placing your Auto seed :joy: soil in a pot works for some, great! Obviously their environment is perfect. This was intended for members who don’t know or were misinformed, not to imply this is the only way that works… If someone is having issues perhaps somewhere within Ed’s steps they can hone in to what it is, as I have done. :call_me_hand:

I made the mistake of storing all my seeds in vials with rice in the vials… I had a $5k+ seed collection’s viability go (from hundreds) to zero in only 5-7 year old seeds. Also I should mention my brother removed the jar from the fridge and I am not sure where it was stored for a couple of the years it is possible they were exposed to extreme heat. But I also believe its possible that the rice absorbed the moisture from the seeds, consuming the life from them. I still keep my seeds in the fridge but I no longer keep rice or anything else in direct contact. Ideally I keep them sealed in the breeders pack which is something they’ve only been doing for a few years now, and hope they didn’t pack the beans with rice!
Perhaps this explains my interest in seed germination… I am pretty sure now I could’ve gotten something in there to sprout :seedling:

Hey guys is there any bottom feeding that needs to be done around here? I’m just the man for the job.

The good news is your rice is now THC infused and you can smoke that.

Thanks for the tips on the gnat control!! The pic of the bag with the ingredients posted, I opened the bag months ago and have been tapping into it since, leaving the contents wide open. I guess I assumed they were already in the mix, but I am surrounded by swamp lands and marsh… its highly possible they made their home after the bag as opened. So next packs and any other soil will be stored in bags+bins… Thanks again!! :fist_right: :fist_left:

I despise censorship, and IMO it is one of the biggest issues with social media these days. Just because I don’t want to hear or like what someone says doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have the right to say what they want. When someone shows you who they are, believe them… doesn’t mean I have to feed into it or even respond. I certainly get why someone would block someone else, it’s just not for me. This isn’t my first day online…I understand how miserable some peoples lives are, and why they would get a slight satisfaction from attempting to bring other down with them. I am successful and nothing anyone can say online can change that. :v:

Nice collection anyway, stop to stress about them and lit the lamps. There is a bias here, it’s raining fresh seeds all days. Fresh cannabis seeds don’t need any specific care, throw an handful of them in the garden and if the birds don’t eat them … you get a dense crop. You can find also a bunch of careful collectors that treat their seeds like artefacts with pretty much advanced storage conditions.

And stupid stoners, like me, that can forget a few seeds somewhere during years and that become little dry stones barely impossible to germinate ^^ Then a bunch of exotic methods, more or less efficient, to bring back the goodness.

I hire a guru ever year. He dances around the yard with a tambourine while smoking up my weed, cleansing my shakahs. Then he digs a little hole with his big toe and spits a seed into it. Or at least he used to. Last time he just drank a bunch of beer and told me he was worried about my aura. The only way were able to fix it was to front him a couple bags so he could fix the transmission in his dodge colt so we could drive up to his yogi’s compound.

Haven’t been able to get in touch with him this year, he’s probably booked up. So I tried @JohnnyPotseed 's worm casting method and wowee! Might not even need that guru anymore, I see no reason to ever not sprout seeds in worm castings.

Pros germinate cannabis seeds by pushing them 1" deep, pointy side up in a light mix.

When I’m not starting hundreds at a time I still go that route. That said I tend grow bog seeds which can have tough shells, or old as dirt seeds. So they need a little raasclaat and some luuuvv to get them going…

I havent heard that word for many years, “raasclaat”, a Jamaican swear word the Janaican guys used I used to score hash off as a youngster.
