Good morning/afternoon OGs.

Reading those comments between @JohnnyPotseed and @MoBilly got me thinking about all the way things were growing up. It took a loooong time for my grandparents to finally modernize our house. No electricity, water from the well, first person to bathe gets the good water lol. I remember splitting firewood all year to get ready for winter. Sometime there my grandfather built a wood splitter. But that damn wood stove was hot when I put my hand on it one day. Yep never did that again. I still have that wood stove out in my garage for heat. We were up in the mountains and shoveling that driveway sucked! As much as I enjoy everything being less labor intensive now, I miss the simplicity of things.

I never really understood it at the time because we lived way different than all the kids I went to school with. But I’m glad I got to experience it.

It’s a good way of life. I wouldn’t trade it to live in the nicest city in the world.
