lol been there, done that. Went out on a trip with brother-in-law, big mistake! His battery wore out halfway, had to row back until passing boat saw and towed us rest of way. lol No fun

I spend a lot of time on the lake with friends that have… less than reliable rigs. I’ve done a lot of paddling. Now we have cell phones. If the motor shells out, just call a buddy that lives on the lake. That only works because I hardly ever fish other lakes though where I don’t know the locals.

Gotta get a trolling motor and have 2 spare batteries for it lol. Got stuck out on the water a few years back and starting bringing 2 batteries with me ever since.
Might me a slow ride back in, but it sure beats rowing

That was probably 20 yrs ago lol i wouldn’t ever take up an invite from him since! My comment was ‘oh? need another rower, huh?’
But, at least he DID have a couple spare oars ( that worked just fine! lol)

I found a decent sized inflatable boat at a yard sale. Was skeptical at first but its actually pretty solid. Made a mount for the back of it out of wooden dowels and a 2x4 and hooked my smaller trolling motor to it. Its pretty fun lol. Except they want me to register it if I put the trolling motor on
This is the exact model.
Has 2 round rubber things on the back that the wooden dowels fit perfectly. Even made a solid floor for it.
