Johnnypotseed’s 3-ring circus - with autos, photos & sex…reversals, that is! (Part 3)

Been loving this weather lately!

Man have I ever had issues with those damn borers. They’ve had a great year and decimated tons of my plants. Are these the ones your dealing with too?

No the ones i have i believe are from gypsy moth. Bright green colored. I will see if i can get a pic of one later.

Ahhh. So they are on the outside. Caterpillars. These guys bore into the stem then eat your buds from inside out. I haven’t ID’d em yet. Anyone know? I’ve seen them before, but never this bad.

How many clones of paralyzed monster is too many ? got 8 rooted thinking another 8 or 10 more.
Thinking there gonna get big fast .

Is that a trick question? I did 3 plants and it is very good smoke. Very frosty dense nuggets.

Being a tree surgeon I am very familiar with gypsy moth caterpillars and they aren’t green.
The ones I am seeing and picking off my plants are cankerworms which are small green caterpillars that get about 1 inch long max. Most aren’t quite that big.

Here is a gypsy moth caterpillar:

No tricks lol just don’t want a room full of 8 ft monsters when every thing else is 4 ft tall .

Thinking the stretch could be a problem looking at the mom haven’t flowered this strain out as yet so not sure what to expect.

Without having any roots damaged, you can expect them to reach 8’ easily. Others have grown them out and all but a few have that size. I suggested topping them if you don’t want them to get that big. You’d have bushes instead of trees lol

Thanks that was my thought on controlling height . I’ve got a bunch of various seed starts hoping to run along with the clones just don’t want a mis matched jungle .
This mom I swear grows a couple inches a day right now .

To keep Frankie good and healthy, remember to give her extra Nitrogen. I’m sure you’ve seen by now, she IS a heavy eater lol

Yup even the clones in the bubble cloner were asking for more nitrogen. Crazy thinking that’s why they took 12 days to root I usually don’t give them any .

I’m giving this a try for the extra Nitrogen,

N-Primer Nitrogen Supplement for Fast Vegetative Growth, Promotes Dark Green Leaves by TPS Nutrients, Quart (32 oz)

Amazon, of course lol

I gave them a shot of fish fertilizer seemed to of satisfied there needs

Just about any heavy Nitrogen nutes will do the trick. feeding heavy, I just don’t want to overnute, so use this to add for the Frankenstein only

Those couple on the left side are different strains and didn’t really like what I did but they were the minority so they have to suck it up .

The yellowing edges on leaves should disappear

oh ok i see now what you just said lol they’re not Frankie so they won’t need the same

You know how it is, different strains react differently to the same nute schedules
Which can be a PITA lol

All the Frankie’s are lush and growing

lol I’m not surprised to hear that. All the work I put into making Frankie to be all she can be pays off
Picking only the very best, of hundreds of clones & seedlings, to go on to the next level of breeding

Looking forward to getting them under the 1000 watt hps and see how they perform.

If I can pull 5/6 zips per plant she will be a keeper which I’m sure should be easy to accomplish.

The top colas, even when topped, can get pretty big. Big enough to need support to keep them from breaking with the weight

lol even to this day, I have that problem. Just had one top cola break the stem under the weight! Thank gosh it was at the harvesting time for it anyhow so no big deal
The wife does what she can with them, but shit happens lol
She tied the cola top up, but below the cola and that’s where it broke
I told her she shoulda used a river cane lol but it’s water under the bridge now, lol in the curing jars
