Johnnypotseed’s 3-ring circus - with autos, photos & sex…reversals, that is! (Part 8)

With me, pain is a multi-lane highway to hell, too many things to list or go into. I’ve mentioned probably all of em at one time or another on here… will say this, reckon the main thing that gets me is a 3-story fall onto concrete, shattered 4 verts and disintegrated 2 discs, with the 3rd vert up jogged over pinching the sciatic to right leg, so it’s in a constant state of trauma/pain. Some other stuff is just as bad, but different… There are quite a few other ailments/illness, but suffice to say, I’ve lived a very hard life and been through a lot over these 75 yrs.
Like I’ve heard said by others, and myself as well… if I knew I was gonna live this long, I’d taken better care!
Now, I get around on a rollaround walker or mobility scooter.
I’m still kicking though, and that’s the main thing! lol

Quick question. I got the growers secret nitrogen you suggested the other day. The Frankie cuts got put in 1 gallon pots just a few days ago. How soon should I apply the extra nitrogen and how often? The bag suggests every 2 to 4 weeks. From what I’ve read here it might need it more frequent than that. Thanks for any advice.

Apply weekly, at least. You’ll see the tips of leaves start to show ‘burn’ when you reach the point of ‘too much’ then back off the amount slightly but keep on weekly regimen. We give our bigger Frankie clones extra Nitrogen twice a week.

On the flipside of that. What would be signs of not enough nitrogen? Today they will get their first actual feeding.

Thanks for your help with these.

That’s what I thought. Every run seems to bring a new learning curve.

I have been using the grower’s secret products to supplement my organic grows as needed, but being very conservative. How much of the nitrogen per gallon are you using? Have you tried the corn steep or kelp?

If you don’t every now and then it’s bad. I’ve been venting from the bottom all my life… How else can a person vent? It just makes scents.

I have to pick beans today. My least favorite garden job. Staying up most of the night reading OG slowed my start. I do have some new potatoes though.

This year we planted some yard long “Asparagus Green Beans”! They are going great right now and the beans are already 7-8". I think Mom will start harvesting soon but she’s going to let some stay on and see just how long they will grow. If she likes them she’ll keep some for planting I’m sure though. We always try to let some stuff go for the next planting.
I hate green beans with a purple passion! The family can have all they want. lol

I have some of those, they didn’t take last season . I also have some Armenian Cucumbers, they are supposed to get really long as well. Well, that’s pot ,but on the other side of the pot.

Armenian Cucumbers look like cantaloupe plants to me.

We grew some Daikon radishes a while ago. It was insanely long!
I don’t have the picture of one of ours but here’s a pic of one I found on the net.

We had some that were bigger around than this.

Good morning everyone. Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday

@Terpsnpurps I prefer venting from the top as it removes heat better and pulls cooler fresh air in along the bottom

Man that fall bro oh my God man! I say the same… I lived pretty wild and if I knew I’d be around this long id have taken WAY better care of myself

We’ve used the powdered kelp for years in addition to other stuff. (more for your money than the already liquified)
How much of the nitrogen per gallon are you using?
We use about 1.5oz per 5 gal bucket for everything, then when it comes to feeding the Frankie clones we add 1-2 teaspoon more to what we give em.
But, the exact amount is something each grower has to figure out on their own, due to so many variables in each growing environment.
age of plant
size of pot
soil mix used
other nutes used
even the humidity and temps

Ha!
I used to be a wrestling fan. Back in the Attitude Era. I don’t watch any more. I always knew it was choreographed but I enjoyed the funny stuff between the matches. Stone Cold, Mick Foley, Degeneration X. That was real comedy genius.
