I’m just an ‘animal person’ lol i love em all.
But this little girl truly has and does earn her keep here. We went to the animal rescue center to adopt a ‘mouser’ and since we have all these bigass dogs figured better to start off with a kitten. So they both get used to each other without any fights. lol She was the only kitten (5weeks old) that stuck her paws out through the cage to me. So we brought her home for $25,00 chipped, all shots and neutered. She has always been by my side no matter where in the house I am, ever since. She’d go to sleep with her head in my palm as a kitten, she thinks she’s one of the dogs. lol Many times she has caught mice that came in from the woods and fields in winter… She walks proudly through the living room with mouse dangling from her mouth and growls at the dogs if they jump up to check it out. They back TF up! lol 5-7lb cat & 100lb dogs… funny sight!
The real kicker is this… she goes to bed and sleeps on the top or on my hip or beside me. If I’m having a bad night and stop breathing, she meows loudly in my ear, or sinks a claw into me. I come awake choking coughing and gasping but I DO come awake! Whenever I lay down Rose knows if I;m ok because she will wait until I go to sleep and then come out of the BR, but if I’m having a rough time, she will lay there beside me the entire time. I’ve posted a lot of pics of her on the Cats of OG thread. She only goes outside when the dogs and us do, she doesn’t climb trees or such. She comes in when called, with the dogs.

Of course she doesn’t! Dogs don’t clime trees! Silly man.
Ok. Full disclosure… I’ve seen coon dogs climb pretty high in trees. lol

That sounds like one hell of an awesome cat. Our cat can take some lessons from yours. She basically yowls like a tom in heat in the morning from exactly 5:00 AM sharp until the tuna is in the bowl.
And no, can’t be cured. I feed her tuna because she was a skeleton on cat food and I’m trying to keep her around and healthy for a few more years.
The yowling is my own fault. It’s my wife’s cat, but when I started growing in the guest room her toys are in, she adopted me and now I feed her.
Edit: I didn’t finish my thought. When I started feeding the cat, she didn’t have a voice, just a whisper. So I was teasing her when she was asking for food one day and got her really worked up. She’s been a yowler ever since.

We had a Beagle hound that would hunt either rabbits or squirrel’s. If my brother walked out of the house with a shotgun Suzie would head for the brush piles. But if he had a rifle she would head right out to the woods for squirrels! She was an amazing bitch! And I’ve seen her run up the side of a tree many times. If she could find a branch to climb on she would go as high as possible in that tree!.
She was impossible to keep penned up! I built a pen with 8’ chain link for her. The top 3’ was without support and curled in over the pen. She would climb that dang fencing and hang upside down until she got to the top part of that chain link. Then do an Olympic gymnastic move and, somehow, swing out and over the top of the thing.
She was an amazing climber.

I had a dog T-Rex who I trained to hunt and harass squirrels and rabbits but he was no racist. Any rodent was game. One day he started tearing siding off an RV because a mouse was inside. I had to start putting him in the kennel after that, unless I was around to watch him.

I’m going to do an experiment. I’ve got extremely high BP. If I miss my morning meds the readings will shoot up around 220/140.
I’m wondering if having Ash (my favorite cat to hang with) laying in my lap actually makes a difference. Easy enough to do.

Managed to grow 2 right away starting in January & light dep with the garage… the emerald rectangle got abandoned because my house situation is messed up. Old man destroying shit & starting more projects. At least I got a few plants to some adoptive homes.
