There has been a slow, steady drop in LED pricing over the last couple years. I’d say 12 ~15% a year for the last three years.
DIY is a about a buck watt in Canada, must be a bit cheaper in the States.

If you include materials, tariffs, and shipping, I built a 240w at around $0.75 US per watt. If you just look at the price of strips and driver only, about $0.50 US per watt
