Light wattage for veg?

I am trying to plan for the future. 35w sq/ft is the ballpark for led’s. Is this for veg/flower? I have a 600w from the wall led now. Guess I am trying to figure out if I can build a less powerful light for veg or stick to the 35w sq/ft.

you can go with less for veg. What size are you growing in?Because honestly for veg it isn’t really so much the watt per sq ft as it is the footprint

My veg cabinet runs 25w LED per sq ft

Footprint is 54” x 54”.

So a bit over 20 square feet with 25 watts per foot that’s that’s right at 500 watts if my math is right

LED for flower is great but for a 4x4 veg tent (I know your a little bigger) a 600w LED is overkill. A 315w CMH fixture with a good 4200K bulb is a terrific light and less expensive than a quality LED and the blue heavy spectrum is spot on for veg.
