Hi to all. Have been thinking about lo-tek approaches to giving plants an alternative way of nutrition.
A place to share and maybe even become a sticky? Or a list of things we can feed to make happy.
For example:
Ascophylum nodosum-> promotion of growth and source of minerals.
Black strap molasses and Epsom salts-> helps develop terps and intensifies aromas.
Brewers yeast -> source of vitamin B folic acid
Hemp seeds-> source of phosphorus
Tomato vine tea-> natural pest repellent.
Shrips shell->When crustacean shells are added to the soil, they stimulate and increase populations of chitin-devouring bacteria and fungi. Once these have decomposed the shells, they go on to devour certain chitinous pests, most notably root-knot nematodes, which can lead to poor yields in a number of crops.
The shells also contain calcium carbonate, the key ingredient in garden lime. Calcium is another essential element for plant health, and it raises the pH of the soil in areas that are too acidic.Etc.
What do you guys galls (if any about) think?
