crispr isn’t really that new, maybe modifying cannabis is new (doubtful, bet monsanto and the like have been doing it for decades) . i also don’t think THC necessarily translates to potency. i’ve had 18% THC cannabis that got me way more fucked up than 27% cannabis. i think more research needs to be done in to the many other cannibinoids etc i don’t even think they’ve identified all of them let alone understand how they all work and interact with eachother… modifying genes would just be shooting in the dark at this point imo
