I bought the same model last night on a whim! Got a belated birthday card with a lowes gift card in it and decided to pull the trigger!
Love to see that its being used again!!
Apparently the premise behind the movie Avatar is not that far off, huh?
I did that with Home Assistant. It continues to evolve here. But I love the situational dependant decisions I can program for temp / RH, exhaust fan, humidifier and dehumidifier.
Thats me in the winter, not the summer LOL. Its the opposite in the summer, higher humidity, and perfect temps. But once the furnace kicks on, RH plummets. Temps is always low 60s. Thats the only negative to LEDs for me, in the past, the halides added enough heat. But in the summer were an issue.
I have a couple of iTVanilla 1.7 litre humidifiers (ultrasonic and like $24). They will be PLENTY in a tent, and I mean fog in the room, dew on the plants if you wanted. I found that out while testing mine. They do need to be refilled regularly though… I got these little ones because I made a 6x6 shelf on my 3D printer that could keep it out of the way / on a support pole.
I’d guarantee he would. “Supports 70 lbs / 100 lbs”. Barely, more likely advertising fluff… and a 5g bucket full is just over 40 lbs… STILL wouldn’t hang a 5g bucket on a tent support bar…
Once you have one, you will find ALL sorts of things are possible… I have 8 of them here now
NO! Buy your own damnit! I have 8, and at this very moment 6 are printing me money. Plus, when you want that bracket, and own a printer, from idea to in hand can be 15 mins at times… Your buddy wont be that fast LOL
Thats what Prusa does, and its one of the more expensive “cheap” printers (i.e. not some 5 figure industrial model). Prusa prints most of their parts, and their printers are regarded as some of the best out there.
Manual switch vs. Soft Switch. I had to return a dehumidifier for that reason, it had a soft power button. I could turn it off with the TP Link switch, but not back on. Won’t work for me. And more and more things are coming with that soft power button instead of an analog one these days. sigh…
@bassman5420 Looking good man. I gotta check in to this thread more often. As you can see, I am also a soil guy, though haven’t jumped into notill yet. But it follows my logic for ponds and aquariums, which is recreating the ecosystem, and things will thrive will less intervention / manipulation from us. You’re tempting me to try this with some large tubs I have here. Big rubbermaid stock troughs, 75g, 150g and 300g (that one can wait, thats a BIG tub). Got lots of ideas in my head though, gravel drainage at the very bottom (there’s bottom drains on the sides), fill with soil. Cover crop and go to town. I need MORE space… ugh… till then I’ll be taking notes watching you guys…
I’ll second this; I had a 1.2 gallon in my 78"x78"x80" tent before I moved the plants out, and it easily kept the humidity at 60%+ even when the rest of the house was at 20-30%, and lasted for days. Now I have a 1.6 gallon downstairs in the 10’x20’x8’ basement room, and it’s keeping the humidity stable at 50% and the plants happy with no problems… well, one problem, but expecting the humidifier to stop me from overwatering might be a little much to ask. Basements are a pain though; I’ve considered putting a MH/HPS bulb up as well, just for heating, since I occasionally have to supplement with a space heater just to keep the temp at 70. Either that, or I could buy a bitcoin heater…

Just looked into this… I had no idea they were so cheap, here I was thinking that the 5-figure ones were the only options. Gonna have to pick one of these up at some point, especially if it’s a true-breeding landrace printer that can reproduce itself. I’m sure I can find room out in the garage, and it’ll pay for itself in no time just from the custom parts, even if I don’t use it commercially like you do for yours. You’re tempting me to pull out more money from the bank already, and I promised myself I wasn’t going to do that anymore this year…
Buy your own damnit! I have 8, and at this very moment 6 are printing me money.
How much work is involved in this money-printing scheme?
Hell ya man, I am digging it that is for sure. I still have not completely set everything up through HA for a few reasons, but I will be fine tuning some day and night variables and getting them all finished up.
Update: Day 13-14 after flip. Lots of defoliation, trying to keep light penetrating into the canopy and keep the lowers nice and clean.
Still seems the Galaxy (back left quadrant) is still pushing ahead in first place all around.
Woo! Man that canopy is looking full and happy, super nice! I’m slowly inching closer to getting a bed myself watching this thread!
Been a really fun read @bassman5420 !
Love the beds - you’re inspiring my future setup right now i think!
Hell ya bud. I am trying to be as transparent as possible, unhappy plants and all. Already getting pretty stoked for the next round or 2 in these beds heh.
Followed your lead and got that chapin my friend!
Is it possible to love a pump sprayer? Cause I’m pretty sure she’s the one!
Ooh man… Not enough likes available to cover how much I love mine so far lol!
Even using it on smaller veging plants, I like being able to froth up the top dress on them a bit heh.
I just used mine earlier to spray some Quillaja and Dr Zymes with the small nozzle.
Dude the interchangeable nozzles, the solid ass build, it’s amazing, and I haven’t even sprayed water out of it yet! if you had told 16 year old me that one day I’d be on a forum gushing about pump sprayer I’d have laughed in your face, but here we are…
These pictures are 20 days after flipping to 12/12. Today or tomorrow I will be pollenating some branches in here.
I put the second layer of screen in earlier. Sadly its only going to be useful for the back 2/3 of the tent since the front 1/3 is a little runty and most likely wont make it up there much.
For this layer of trellis, I used 4 screw in screw out adjustable curtain rods my wife got at a big free sale. I just unscrewed them till the right size and wrapped them to the tent pole with some electrical tape to hold them in place. Then I just cut down and zip tied it in place with some more reusable zip ties and got it nice and tight.
I pollenated some selected buds. The Galaxy (back left) got hit with the last of my Gelato pollen, all the Orangasm pollen I was given by @Black-Sands-Ranch and some Strawberry Banana pollen from @ELG . The other 3 plants, Roze Cookies (back right) Blood Lotus (front left) and Afgoo (front right) all only got some Strawberry Banana pollen.
Loving the show brother! This thread is part of my decision to go no till on my future grows.
Hell ya bud! This first cycle is going decent so I am excited to see how the next few till go. In the next day I will be posting some update pics on the 2x4 beds plant recovery and also some mulch shots of the 3x3 bed for shits and giggles heh.
I’ll enjoy any details you toss out! When I start my next round do you mind if I shoot any questions your way?
Ya go for it bud ill answer what I can or try to point you in the right direction at least.
I appreciate it; I’m pretty self sufficient, but I like to have confirmation…or at least a sounding board, sometimes
